Working-fluid supply. - In a steam power plant having interstage superheating by steam, the supply of superheating steam is controlled by a speedresponsive device which trips a quickacting valve when the speed exceeds a predetermined limit. The object is to protect the plant should a fracture of the superheater pipes occur. The Figure shows the application to a turbine plant in which a steam-heated superheater e is arranged between the stages d, f. The steam pipe b is provided with an ordinary governor-controlled valve h and a quick-acting valve k which shuts off steam when an excessive speed is attained. The steam supply pipe c of the superheater e is controlled by a quick-acting shut off valve m, which also operates at excessive speeds. The valves k, m may be operated by the same governor, or may be mechanically connected. The same effect may be obtained by connecting the pipe c to the pipe b at a point between the valve k and the turbine.
