Abstract

300,060. Ainstein, I., (known as Einstein, W. I.). Feb. 22, 1928. Preparing surfaces; metals, obtaining. - An article of wood or other organic material on which it is desired to deposit a layer of metal by electrolysis is dipped in soluble glass and its surface sanded and then dried. It is then pulverized by means of a gun with an alloy of easily fusible metals such as lead, antimony, bismuth, tin, and zinc. This may be followed by a second pulverization with copper, bronze, or brass. The article is then subjected to preliminary electroplating in a bath at a low temperature preferably below 10‹ C. The main electro-deposition is then effected in a hot bath.
