Abstract

298,013. McCowen, D. M. Jan. 9, 1928. Luggage holders. - In a perambulator body of the kind in which the space under the usual bed 1 is utilized as a compartment for carrying parcels &c. by providing a sliding drawer therein, the drawer is supported at each of its sides upon runners to facilitate its manipulation. In the construction shown, the drawer 3 is arranged to slide longitudinally of the body so as to be pulled out at either or both ends, and is provided with angled runners 10 supported on rollers 11 on the sides of the perambulator, which are extended downwardly to the bottom of the drawer. A bottom may be provided on the body proper or, as shown, the bottom of the drawer may form the bottom of the composite body. In a modification, the sides of the drawer are adapted to form an extension of the sides of the body proper, and are provided with internal angles forming runners sliding upon other angles attached to the bottom of the body. Instead of sliding longitudinally, the drawer may be arranged to slide transversely.
