Abstract

294,435. Rapp, W. Jan. 9, 1928. Securing brushes on shafts.-In couplings permitting relative axial movement and employed in the drive of electric floor polishers, the armature shaft 12 extends vertically through an aperture in the disc 14 carrying the brushes, and has secured thereto by a pin 28 a ring 25 carrying vertical segments 27 embracing the shaft between which segments engage complementary vertical segments 22 extending from a ring 17 screwed to the upper side of the disc. Vertical movement of the brushes is limited by the ring 25 and by a ring 21 secured to the shaft 12 and adapted to abut against the casing 10 of the motor.
