Abstract
279,137. Buggenhoudt, R. van, and Homeyer, R. Oct. 18, 1926, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. Yarns, treating with liquids; processes.-New effects, including swelling and increase in weight are produced on fibres, threads and fabrics having a cellulose base by dipping for a few minutes in an alkaline solution of a mixture containing for example 85 per cent. potassium hydroxide, 6.5 per cent. tannic acid, 5 per cent, acetic acid, and 3.5 per cent. ether, then passing through air, the alkali bath and the air treatment being con. tinued as desired. Neutralization is then effected by an acid bath and the product is finally washed.
