Abstract

279,102. Reed Air Filter Co., (Assigneees of Hegan, C. P.). Oct. 15, 1926, [Convention date] . Dust-collectors.-Air is drawn through a depositing chamber 5 which is periodically flushed with liquid, such as oil, to clear and recoat the filter elements by the action of a pump 18 which draws liquid from a, sump 11 and delivers it to the top of the chamber. Dirty oil returns to the sump through a filter 14 composed of several baskets containing graduated filtering material, The flushing operation is arranged to take place when the air current is not flowing, by the action of a. pivoted vane 23 which closes the circuit of the pump motor when in the vertical position. An automatic circuit breaker may be included to stop the motor after a given interval of time.
