Abstract

272,689. Dodd, W. June, 23, 1926. Lubricant conveyed by mechanical means. - Fixed apparatus for lubricating the axles of colliery tubs comprises a wheel A mounted on an axle B carried on the side of an arm C pivoted on a pin D in a grease box, the arm being pressed upwards by a coiled spring M engaging the end of the arm between the axis of the wheel and the periphery thereof and the wheel being pressed against the side G of the box by a spring F interposed between the wheel and the arm. An annular rib a on the wheel coacts with vertical ribs H on the side G of the box to give a frictional hold. The side of the arm is provided with a fin e which scrapes the side and the prommemces on the periphery of the wheel, while a horizontal rib f on the wall G of the box scrapes the other side of the wheel. The spring M is arranged on a pillar J which is secured to the bottom of the box and extends through a slot K in the arm C.
