Fixed - chamber apparatus with several chambers and discharged by separate fluids.-The apparatus described in the parent Specification is provided with means for preventing operation of the distributing valves until a measuring chamber is completely filled, which may comprise a disc 141, Fig. 5, mounted on the valve-operating crankshaft 124 and having shoulders 84 co-operating with the hooked end 83 of a Jever 139. When a measuring chamber 105 or 106, Fig. 6, is filled, a piston 192, is raised against the action of a spring and through connections 190, 138 lifts the lever 139 to free the crankshaft for rotation. In a modification, the rod 138 is connected to a lever 194, Fig. 9, having a stud 198 co-acting with inclined guides 196, 197 on the disc 141. The distributing valves 114, Fig. 4, each comprise a spring-loaded lift valve, the stem 113 of which has a lubricantcontaining channel 68 and chamber 69, and ends in a head 71 with a spring 72 surrounding a slidable sleeve 74, which engages a lever 120 connected to a crankpin on the shaft 124. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also other means for actuating the crankshaft locking device, the replacement of the crankshaft by a camshaft and other matters. As shown in Fig. 5 (Cancelled), overflow conduits 111, each end in a glass indicator 130 containing a disc 133 on a rod 132; when the disc is depressed, the lever 139 is raised by the rod 138 and lever 135. Each measuring chamber has a spring-loaded disc valve 95 or 157, Fig. 9, (Cancelled); in the latter case, air passes through a float valve 150 provided with a deflector 167, and conduit 156 until the chamber is filled. In order to facilitate discharge, air may be pumped into the conduit 156. The handle 66, Fig. 6 (Cancelled), of a hand crank has a rod 90 pressed outwards by a spring 92 so as to engage a stop, but capable of withdrawal by turning the handle on its axis, when a pin 93 moves in an inclined groove 94, so that the rod is withdrawn into a sleeve 91. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
