Abstract

A clothes hanger with sloping arms 1.1 and an extendable trouser bar 1.2. The hanger can be formed of four separate pieces including a main body; the sloping arms; which can also form the respective ends of a trouser bar; and a central section 1.2 onto which the arms 1.1 can slide to form the extendable trouser bar. The trouser bar may have receiving holes 1.4 to which clips 1.5 can be attached, the clips 1.5 being suitable for hanging items of clothing on. There may also be a space-saving hook 1.3 in the centre of the hanger.

DESCRIPTION

There are several extendable hangers already available that offer sloping extendable arms which are designed for tops. There is no existing extendable clothes hanger that offers the combination of extendible sloping arms and extendable trouser bar using only 4 components and which can be fixed in set positions to prevent the arms from moving inwards or outwards.

The present invention offers extendable sloping arms that are shaped at the end so they slide into a separate centre bar thus creating an extendable clothes hanger that includes an integrated trouser bar, with the facility to attach clips. This means that you only need one hanger to cover all items from baby size to adult size, thus helping to reduce waste plastic for hangers that only offer fixed widths.

The invention comprises 4 separate molded pieces including a main body, two extending arms and a centre section supporting the extending arms and forming an extendable trouser bar. Figure 1 shows the invention with the arms pushed in (baby size), front view. Fig 2 shows the back view. Figure 3 shows the arms pushed half way in (child size) Fig 4 shows the back view. Figure 5 shows the arms fully extended (adult size).Fig 6 shows the back view.

Fig 1, 1,1 shows the sloping adjustable arms. 1.2 shows the centre bar used to support the two sloping adjustable arms. 1.3 shows the space saving stacking hook and the clip receiving feature. 1.4, shows the receiving holes of the trouser bar where additional clips can be added. 1.5 shows the optional clips attached. Fig 2, 2.1 shows the movable thumb push feature with a tooth that engages with recesses in the main body 2.2 thus allowing the arms to be fixed in position.

The arms include a thumb push mechanism that allows each arm to be set in several different positions preventing the arms from pushing in.

Other features include a space saving hook with a hole to attach a clip.

The extendable bar has multiple hole features to allow for the hanging of a clip with a stem and male feature that is designed to fit in the hole shapes.

CLAIMS1. An extendable clothes hanger with sloping arms with an integrated extendable trouser bar.
2. An extendable clothes hanger with an integrated extendable trouser bar that allows outwards or inwards movement of the arms and bar to accommodate baby to adult size clothes.
3. An extendable clothes hanger with an integrated extendable trouser bar that allows outwards or inwards movement of the arms and bar to accommodate baby to adult size clothes with a feature that allows the fixing of the arms in multiple positions.
4. An extendable clothes hanger with an integrated extendable trouser bar made out of 4 separate pieces including a main body, two arms formed in a shape that also provides the ends of a trouser bar and a centre section that they slide onto to create a fully functioning extendable trouser bar.
5. An extendable clothes hanger with sloping arms with an integrated extendable trouser bar that allows for the hanging of more than one skirt or pair of trousers on the same extendable bar.
6. An extendable clothes hanger with sloping arms with an integrated extendable trouser bar that features several receiving holes for attaching clips to allow the hanging of skirts/trousers thus allowing for the hanging of at least two items on separate clips.
7. An extendable clothes hanger with sloping arms with an integrated extendable trouser bar that features a space saving hook feature in the centre and receiving hole to allow the stacking of hangers or for clips to hold other items under the main hanger.
