Abstract
256,011. Lapidus, H. E. Sept. 23, 1925. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Piston apparatus for discharging receptacles. -In a syringe for medical and other purposes provided with a pistollike handle 1, the rod 9, Fig. 1, of the piston 17 is racked in its underside and engages a pinion 15 which meshes with a rod 11 carried by a trigger 13. The trigger 13 may be provided with a ring 14 sliding on the barrel 5, or the barrel may be provided on the underside with a slotted guide for the rod 11 and upper end of the trigger. For dental and similar purposes where only a small quantity of liquid is required, the piston rod 9 is provided with teeth at the rear portion only. In a modification in which the liquid is discharged by a step-by-step movement of the piston, the rods 9, 11, Fig. 9, are offset in relation to one another and engage pinions 20, 21 connected together through a pawl and ratchet, a spring 24 returning the trigger to the forward position.
