Abstract
255,536. Fox, R. J. April 24, 1925. Air-heating stoves; closed solid-fuel stoves; cooking stoves; air supply and draught, regulating; grates; boilers, arrangement of; air, moistening and purifying.-An air-heating stove comprises hollow inclined air-heating firebars 4, having downward extensions 4<b> at the front and upward extensions 4<a> at the rear, the latter extending forwardly at the top beneath a chamber 16 into which the air heated in them is delivered. The sides and back of the combustion chamber are surrounded by a double air-heating jacket 18, 19, the air from which also passes into the chamber 16, and thence through the grid 20. There may be provided a tank 21 with a projecting filling-lip 22 to contain water or disinfectant for humidifying the air; a pressure boiler 6 in the combustion chamber; an oven 8; and a platewarming chamber 26. The end of the flue outlet pipe projects into a flue pipe 31 of larger size, the intervening space being controlled by a crescent-shaped pivoted damper 32 which is connected by a rod 33 to a pivoted apertured damper 30 at the outlet. from the pipe 29. A dial plate is connected by chains to the valve 30 and also to the ashpit air-inlet door, the latter being thus simultaneously operated with the dampers 30, 32.
