Abstract

253,862. Kopatschek, K. June 22, 1925, [Convention date]. Addition to 246,812. Alarm mechanism of the mechanical pinrelease type, arranged for signals of short, predetermined duration as in the parent Specification, comprises a stationary annular ring to receive the pins 15 and a releasing lever 6 carried by slot 8 and pin 7 on an arm 5 which rotates rigidly with the hour wheel spindle 1, the lever being pressed outwardly by a spring 16 anchored at 17 to the arm 5. Loose on the hour shaft and next to the hour wheel 2 is a cam 3 rigid with a disc 4 having teeth at its periphery. A pin 11 on this disc co-acts with the end 12 of the lever 6 and another pin 10 on this disc engages in a substantially triangular hole 9 in the lever 6. Passing between the cam 3 and disc 4 is a spring 19 which normally locks the lever 18 of the alarm hammer. When a tooth 14 of the lever 6 in rotating with the hour spindle meets a pin 15 it is rocked by the pin so that its end 12 strikes upwardly against the pin 11 and rotates the disc 4 and cam 3 counterclockwise, Fig. 1, whereby the cam 3 is moved axially by the hour wheel 2, removing the spring 19 from the lever 18. The alarm train now operates and drives a member 21 which, by engaging the teeth of the disc 4, moves the latter further counterclockwise whereby, after a short time, the pin 10 on the disc 4 moves the lever 6 to the right, Fig. 1, and removes the tooth 14 from the release pin 15. As soon as the member 21 is disengaged the parts are returnad by the springs 16 and 19. If there is more than one tooth 14 at the end of the release lever 6 the above operations are repeated for each tooth, giving a succession of short signals.
