Abstract
253,682. Chinn, W., and Chinn's Patents, Ltd. May 12, 1925. Centrifugal speed indicators; changing gear, indicating suitable speeds for.-In apparatus for indicating suitable speeds for changing gear, as described in Specification 158,935, the quadrant levers for actuating the indicating hands are mounted on separate removable bearing brackets, and adjustable zero stops are provided. The centrifugal governors B, C driven from the lay-shaft and the tail-shaft of the gearbox respectively, may be constructed as described in Specification 253,681. A collar c moved by the governor C bears upon an adjustable cam g' carried by a quadrant G which is pivoted on a pin g<1> in a bearing bracket g<2>. This quadrant actuates the vehicle speed indicating pointer. The co-operating pointers are actuated by quadrants D, E, F, pivoted on pins d<1>, e', f<1> which :are mounted in separate bearing brackets d<2>, e<2>, f<2>. The quadrant D is first moved by the action of the governor sleeve b on an adjustable cam d<3> carried by the quadrant. A pin H transmits movement to the second quadrant E, and a pin K on this quadrant actuates the third quadrant F. Adjustable zero stops h, k, m, n are provided for the various quadrants. Registering distance upon counters.-A mileage register may be actuated by gearing c<1>, c<2>. c<3>.
