Abstract
253,580. Pease, E. L. March 16, 1925. Manures.-A manure is prepared by treating a mixture of mineral or organic calcium phosphate and a porous material such as peat powder, coke dust, sewage sludge powder, or corn cobs with sulphuric acid or sulphur gases to obtain a mixture of calcium sulphate and free phosphoric acid, which is further treated with ammonia. Water may be present with the porous material or the acid used is diluted. According to the second Provisional Specification, an oxidizing agent such as sodium nitrite may be mixed with the porous material and phosphate when sulphur gases are used.
