Abstract

A case suitable for holding, transporting and securing portable computing and mobile communications devices in a secure manner which is provided with a number of magnetic strips of various shapes and sizes and the case may have seams disposed at various points on the body of the case which allow the case to be folded in various orientations. The case may be provided with a cover that can fit securely on the back of a device; the cover may be made of magnetically attractive material to be held by the magnets disposed in the case.

MAGNETIC CASE FOR PORTABLE

COMPUTING/ TELECOMMUNICATION DEVICES This invention relates to a case for holding, transporting and securing portable computing devices such as tablet computers and other mobile communication devices such as mobile phones in a secure manner.

The problem with present cases for mobile computing devices is that they do not hold the device securely in place or at the angle desired by the user. The present invention seeks to solve this shortcoming.

The present invention is a case for holding, transporting and securing portable computing devices. The case is provided with a number of magnetic strips of various shapes and sizes located within the body of the case to provide maximum flexibility in use. The ease is further provided with a cover which is made from magnetically attractive material such as iron, which fits securely on the back of the portable computing or telecommunication device.

The cover can be securely affixed to the magnetic strips in the case.

The case itself is constructed with seams which allows the case to be folded into different orientations so that the mobile device can be attached to the case in whatever orientation required by the user. For example the case can be folded in half and as a consequence the magnets in each half of the case hold the case shut. When the device with its cover is placed within the case and the case is shut, the device is then secure within the case and can be transported without fear of falling. By way of further example the one half of the case can be folded along a seam to provide a sloping face onto which the device can be attached. In this manncr thc casc can bc restcd on thc uscrs lap or a flat surface and this facilitates easy reading and the device is held securely in any oricntation.

In invention will now be described by reference to the drawing.

Figure 1 shows the inside view of the case when fully opened.

Figure 1 is an example of the layout of the case. The case is divided into 2 sections A and B and can be folded into two along the central seam. Magnets are situated in both sections at the edges and in the body of the case. The case can be shut by joining section A with section B along the central seam. When open the case can be used to hold one or more device on either face A or B in any orientation whether lengthwise or widthwise, when the device is fitted with the cover provided for the purpose.

if it is desired to have the device or devices at a slope the case can be folded in half as before and section B can be folded along the second seam and the outer section of section B can be raised to the angle desired by user. The folded case can thus be placed on the users lap or on a flat surface and one or more dcviccs fitted with the cover can rest on the angled surface. As the angled surface is magnetic the devices are held securely in place. rIlhus for example a user can place an tablet device and a mobile phone on the same surface and both will be held in place enabling the user to usc both devices conveniently and without risk of the devices falling.

2. A case as in claim 1 wherein the case is further disposed with seams at various points on the body of the case which allow the case to be folded in various orientations.
3. A case as in claim 1 and 2 which is provided with a cover made of magnetically attractive material wherein the case fits securely on the back of the device to be carried thereby permitting the device to be held securely by the magnets disposed in the case.
