Abstract
A mixed martial arts dummy having a main body element with one or more foam elements 6,8 acting as a skeleton or core skeleton frame, having at least one or more objects of weight 7 placed within the body element so that the body stands freely on its own and at least one or more extended elements (Fig.2; 2,3) extended from the body element. Optionally the main body element can include one or more plastic sheets. The weights may be sand, metal, rubber, wooden or beanbag weights. The foam may be memory foam, chipped foam or alternatively needle felt or flexible hard filling.
Description
Description
This product is designed to give a more realistic training aid in mind to cater for a range of mix martial arts styles and systems. It gives a more enhanced training regime by cutting down limitations such as brackets, supporting frames, plastic bases or bolts and completely cuts the need to hold the bag yourself to make it stand up in order for you to execute various training techniques, by striking at different angles and ranges. Also because of the self standing system and no solid objects in your way of the bag, you have the freedom to train, strike and grapple anyway you prefer.
The transform punch bag is able to stand freely without the aid of bolts, brackets or supporting frames. The extremely hard filling wit in the bag which acts as a skeleton gives the bag its shape and makes it stand by filling the contours within the bag. It works in con]unction with the built in weight at the very bottom of the bag. It balances it all out to make it stand and makes it stable. The bag is a traditional boxing bag which means because the technology to keep it standing up is all built inside, the traditional bag can be used as a normal boxing or martial arts bag from top to bottom, which means it can be picked up, thrown, swept kneed, elbowed, punched, grappled with and shoot fora takedown, which is not possible to do so with any other bag or grappling dummy out there. Other bags need aids e.g. plastic base with sand, bolts, supporting frames and brackets. So this means you will not be able to train freely without restrictions because you will not be able to pick up, throw, sweep, grapple with on the ground, shoot for a takedown or do any shoot of hip throw.
Usually with a grappling dummy or bag or even a self standing punch bag, you have to physically keep the bag standing up in order to train or do any sort of submissions. Also striking with the bag is almost impossible, because simply striking something and trying to keep holding it up, in reality will not work.
The carefully designed positioning of weights and foams allow this product to be freely standing up but yet not using solid objects that can injure a person training enhances the training itself but the carefully selection of foam which is completely safe to strike on, working with the correct level of weights and the fact that the wrights are concealed within the bags, stability is given to the bag by putting all the elements together but yet using the traditional martial arts bag and the flexible extended elements which are mimicking the arms and legs of a human are carefully positioned correctly, as a human beings ligaments would be.
Although there are other bags that don't need the elements such as brackets, supporting frames or bolts or plastic base with sand or water, and can be grappled with, they are still unable to stand freely on their own.
Also although other grappling dummies and bags traditionally have arms and legs working in conjunction, with our built in stabilizing technology, it gives the person training a far more realistic training tool.
The following grappling or submission implements, grappling or submission object flexible grappling or submission tool, grappling or submission arm and legs, grappling or submission aid, grappling or submission device, are used to execute various grappling and submission movements. This process is extremely important working in conjunction with the self standing technology, it is now possible to execute the level of distance with you and your opponent by step 1 -standing face to face with your opponent. Step 2-shoot or run into your opponents' body or grab his legs thus taking the opponent down. Step 3-going for a grappling and a submission movement, as shown on figure (8}V. it also now possible to execute other movements such as kung fu strikes practiced in a art called wing chun, because of the extended elements extending from the body element and then take your opponent down and go for a submission. This will give you a more enhanced mixed martial arts training. The extended grappling and submission elements and the fact that the bag can stand on its own gives you more freedom to take your opponent down from the left or right position, back or forward, literally to train 360 degrees while keeping your distance and striking when you feel you are ready to.
Title: Transform MMA Bag.
Field of invention
This product is designed to give a more realistic training aid in mind to cater for a range of mix martial arts styles and systems. It gives a more enhanced training regime by cutting down limitations such as brackets, supporting frames, plastic bases or bolts and completely cuts the need to hold the bag yourself to make it stand up in order for you to execute various training techniques, by striking at different angles and ranges. Also because of the self standing system and no solid objects in your way of the bag you have the freedom to train, strike and grapple anyway you prefer.
Background
Usually with a grappling dummy or bag or even a self standing punch bag, you have to physically keep the bag standing up in order to train or do any sort of submissions. Also striking with the bag is almost impossible, because simply striking something and trying to keep holding it up, in reality will not work. Or taking the opponent down is not possible because in order to take your opponent down you have to lunge and shoot yourself into your opponents leg or body thus picking them up or throwing them down and start grappling.
The bags that need frames, bolts, brackets, plastic bases or any sort of assistance or solid objects to keep them upright are subject to limited training and lack of freedom. By having a solid object or brackets or supporting frames you are not able to grapple freely and on many occasions on those training apparatus you will not be able to take your opponent down or execute any grappling movements.
The invention This product is designed to give a more realistic training aid in mind to cater for a range of mix martial arts styles and systems. It gives a more enhanced training regime by cutting down limitations such as brackets, supportingframes, plastic bases or bolts and completely cuts the need to hold the bag yourself to make it stand up in order for you to execute various training techniques, by striking at different angles and ranges. The bag is a traditional boxing bag which means because the technology to keep it standing up is all built inside, the traditional bag can be used as a normal boxing or martial arts bag from top to bottom, which means it can be picked up, thrown, swept, kneed, elbowed, punched, grappled with and shoot for a takedown, which is not possible to do so with any other bag or grappling dummy out there. Description of drawings
Figure 1 shows the complex sizes of the arms and legs. The arms (2) measure at 11 inches from the body to the elbow, and 13 inches from the elbow to the hand. The legs (3) measure at 12 inches from the body to the knee, and 21 inches from the knee to the foot. It also shows the whole length of the body section (1).
Figure 2 shows the arms (2) and legs (3) and the body (1). They are all lined on a shaded surface on the figure itself, representing a hard PVC material, which is cut and sewn into the shape of the body and arms and legs. Therefore making the surface smooth to strike on.
Figure 3 shows flaps (4) which are attached to the arms and legs when the arms and legs are manufactured. They act as a base attaching out from the ends of the arms and legs. The flaps are then double stitched on the inside of the bag with a high grade thread. The arms and legs are positioned diagonally by using the circumference and the cylindrical shape of the body.
Figure 4 shows the arms and legs. The solid lined shaded areas represent a high dense chip foam (5), manufactured in the same length and shape to fit the contours of the arms and legs. Although it is firm it is still flexible, and can be manipulated to execute submission or grappling techniques FigureS shows(S) 1.Sinch mat foam, which is placed after the bag has been sewn into its original shape to cover the entire circumference of the inside of the bag, which ultimately acts as a skeleton within the bag and acts as a built in inner wall.
Figure 6 shows mat filling which is 5ft in length and is rolled into a cylindrical shape skeleton (6), which although is hollow but yet fills the contours of the bag, giving it the shape and the structure.
Three pieces of hard chip foam filling(S) are then rolled into cylindrical shapes which are inserted into sections of the body. Each roll of chip foam are 20 inches. Thus filling the gaps due to it being a solid foam object, that filling the hollow core of the body. In between those solid foam elements, there are (7) objects of weights, which are embedded in between the rolled solid chip foam bases, which act as a down force counterweight throughout the core of the body section, which counter acts with the inner wall filling. This makes the whole structure stable and makes it stand upon its own. The weights at the bottom of the core is approximately 10kg in weight, the other weights throughout the core of the body are 5kg each. The diameter of the weights and the solid chip foam is just underift, so it all fits in snugly and tight.
Figure 7 shows the unique shape and placements of the arms and legs and the main body, which is clearly shown by a person out lining the bag. It clearly shows the person going in for a shooting position, as executed in grappling and submission fighting. The persons back leg is countered to sustain the majority of his/her weight, thus the core of the bag is doing that. Also the front legs are uniquely placed and are acting as a takedown opportunity for the opponent, and the arms are positioned in a defensive or submission grappling mode.
FigureS shows the person training shooting in, picking up the bag from a side position and going in for a side pickup throw. This ultimately enhances and gives you more freedom to train at different angles of the bag, for it doesn't have any solid object outside the bag that can come in your way.
FigureS shows the amount of freedom you have for any kind of submissions or ground fighting freely and without any restrictions.
Figure 10 shows a person sweeping the bag onto the ground. It is clearly possible to do so because of the mat filling and the weight at the bottom. The whole structure of the bag is stable enough to be trained with standing up, and the reason why you can take the bag down is because you do not require any brackets, plastic bases, bolts or supporting frames.
Figure 11 shows the bag having no solid object outside the bag that can come in your way, or injure you from top to bottom, it is now possible not just to grapple with bag standing up freely but to strike any forms of strikes on any place on the bag without injuring yourself or restricting yourself.
Figure 12 shows the bag being thrown from a standing up position without the aid of any brackets, plastic bases, bolts or supporting frames, which is not possible to do if the training bag requires the above aids and it's an unrealistic training tool if you need to hold the grappling bag or dummy up yourself to train with.
Figure 13 is one of the most important displays of the bag. It shows the uniqueness of the bag where the bag is completely standing aid free from any brackets, plastic bases, bolts or supporting frames.
The person training is executing one of the most important moves in mix martial arts or grappling.
By shooting or tackling the free standing bag, the person training is able to shoot, pick, throw, grapple and submit the bag in different stages Therefore it gives the person training a really realistic training experience.
Figure 14 clearly shows the plastic sheet (10) which surrounds the contours within the bag to give it stability and structure and it also shows the cylindrical metal weights (9) placed in between the inner tilting.
Figure 15 clearly show5 foam filling (12) which acts as a core inner filling which is solid to give the bag stability and form working in conjunction with the sand weights(11) which are placed in between the foam filling.
Figure 16 shows rubber weights (13) placed in various different places within the bag. Also the hard chip foam (8)is covering the inner core, and the inner circumference of the bag. They both work in conjunction.
Figure 17 shows pieces of solid wooden weights (16) placed within the body, counteracting and working in conjunction with the body by having hard chip foam filling (8) and memory foam wall (15) which is built within the bag.
Figure 18 shows a sheet of needle felt (18) is oarefully placed in the outer section. Loose filling (20) is then filled to cover the core of the bag, and beanbag weights (19) are filled in the filling process. This is all then works together which makes the bag stand up on its own.
Figure 19 shows a multi grain hard filling (22) which is carefully placed in the inner core of the bag and a flexible hard filling (21) which is placed as a frame to cover the inner circumference of the bag.
