Description

DESCRIPTION

Disposable underwear with integrated sanitary towel.

This invention relates to a new disposable sanitary product to be sold in the feminine hygiene market.

When females are on their menstrual cycles, they often use a traditional detachable sanitary towel which is temporarily stuck to the inside of their underwear. The user is forced to wear sanitary towels day and night for several days or even longer.

Depending on the flow of her period, she may leak through the sanitary towel and into her knickers. This invention would solve the problem of leaking into and staining existing underwear and would instead provide a fully disposable underwear and sanitary towel combined product which the user can flilly dispose of when the time comes to change (every 2-6 hours depending on menstrual flow).

Use of conventional sanitary products can lead to a number of difficulties. The use of traditional sanitary towels inserted into the user's existing underwear frequently leads to soiling of underwear and clothing which causes considerable discomfort, such as skin irritations and odour development. Depending on the user's cycle, the user can and will often bleed into their existing underwear. If the underwear is not washed quickly, the blood can stain the user's underwear. Additionally, underwear stained with blood, may not be able to be changed as quickly as the female would like, due to not having a spare pair of underwear available. Therefore, the blood can often leak through clothes which causes embarrassment and is uncomfortable and unhygienic.

The female may not have a spare pair of underwear available and so will often have to wait before she can change. Likewise, females on their menstrual cycles may often leak blood onto their beds, when sleeping, due to leakage from the sanitary towel to the underwear onto the bed sheets and often on to the mattress.

To overcome these problems, this present invention proposes to provide users with a combined underwear and sanitary towel product, presenting one unit, which is together fully disposable. The underwear will have a non-detachable sanitary towel integrated into it. The sanitary towel will be integrated into the underwear by being sewn in or permanently attached by any other integrated means. The underwear and sanitary towel combined product can be fully disposed of in the same way that existing sanitary items are disposed of Therefore, using this invention, the user can simply change her sanitary product, and not have to worry about having leaked onto or staining the underwear, as the underwear is also disposed of when changing the sanitary item. The invention will be a comfortable, lightweight alternative to existing sanitary products, with the added benefit of the underwear being disposed of as well.

This way the user can save her existing underwear for occasions when she is not bleeding and has the added comfort of knowing they will not be ruined by blood. This invention is essentially a modification of two existing products.

The product will be made of a lightweight material which can be made to be bio-degradable or can be made using current sanitary towel material.

The sanitary towel element of the invention will be available in different ranges to suit the user's menstrual flow e.g. light flow, medium flow, heavy flow, maternity, after birth, with wings. without wings, nocturnal etc. The underwear will also come in different sizes for example: XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL This underwear will also be available in different colours.

This invention will now solely byway of example and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figure 1 shows an open view of the underwear with the non-detachable sanitary towel inside.

Figure 2 shows a transparent front view of the underwear with the non-detachable sanitary towel.

Figure 3 shows a transparent back view of the underwear with the non-detachable sanitary towel.

The sanitary towel numbered (2) is permanently attached to the underwear (1). As shown in Figure 1, the sanitary towel (2) is laid flat on the underwear, as with traditional stick on sanitary towel products, however this invention intends to actually integrate the sanitary item onto the underwear so that is permanently a part of the underwear and is un-detachable. The sanitary towel will be integrated either by being sewn in or permanently attached to the underwear by any other method.
