Abstract
A low power consumption water heating apparatus comprises a core member 4a for heating fluid and a heating control apparatus. The core member includes a core, a heating member 33 and a heat load reducing member 23. The core in which water is heated is provided with a water inlet 6 and a water outlet 10, with a channel 4b, 4c connected between the two. The heating member comprises an electrical resistance heating element. The heat load reducing member is made of aluminium and is generally planar, where one of the surfaces is in contact with the channel directly and an adjacent surface is attached to the heating member. The heat load reducing member acts as pressure plate to provide a pressure force to the core member whilst diminishing the heat load to the core member. The heat load reducing member has a thickness of 0.5-1.0 mm. The heating control apparatus is utilised to control the heating member by controlling the ratio of heating time that the heating member is occupied. In use, the apparatus is designed to provide hot water with high speed and low energy consumption for use in automatic drinking water machines or beverage dispensers.
