Abstract

The combination system includes layers of non-slip material (NS) and memory foam (MF), as well as other material (ML). There are 6 versions, which can be individually tailored to customer and product requirements. The NS layer is preferably a rubber coated mesh fabric. The MF layer preferably comprises visco-elastic polyurethane foam pieces. The combination system is used in equestrian and pet products.

COMBINATION NON SLIP MEMORY FOAM MANUFACTURE RELATING TO
EOUESTRIAN AND PET PRODUCTS
The invention relates to the manufacture of equestrian horse and rider products and pet products using the combined non slip memory foam system invented by myself.
The combination of materials, when manufactured together on products, allow the item produced to give ultimate non slip comfort properties enhancing horse, pet and human comfort and protection.
My invention comes after years of study in to equestrian and pet products, and the most common fault in the current market is that items when used slip and also don't allow enough cushioning and comfort for animal or rider. My combination system has a lot of unique values which benefit animal or riders when manufactured into products using the layers set out in Figure 1. The non slip mesh eliminates all slipping and movement adding stability to horse and rider and secures pet beds in position on slippery floors. The memory foam acts as a cushion within the products it moulds to shape of animal / rider or other equipment and spreads weight evenly across the surface of the product, eliminating pressure points and sore spots. When pressure is released it returns to original shape. II also contributes to better blood circulation and adapts to body temperature.
This application is for the use of my invented combined non slip memory foam layer system for manufacture of the following items: -Equestrian (including all versions of equestrian products English/western and treeless designed items) -Saddles, saddle pads, numnah's, half pads, saddle blankets, Wither pads, Horse! pony Back pads & comfort pads, Rugs & sheets (inc ride on / turnout! exercise and combination neck rug), travel boots, bandages, leg wraps, saddle covers, also including Rider seat savers, jodhpurs & breeches, rider chaps & leg wraps, jackets/body warmers & coats, body protector & hat covers and gloves. Pet products include, animal bedding and clothing.

(example version 1: -L3 = layer 3 which is memory foam) This shows the different layers of material used in this combination system.

Each version 1 -6 shows the different layer combinations which would be used on a product, each product needs a different version of combination system dependant on product requirements. For example -a pair ofjodhpurs would need a non slip underside for rider to grip to saddle with one layer of material and then a memory foam layer and followed by an upper material layer between rider and memory foam, thus being version 3 of figure 1 example. Where as a non slip saddle pad, would need version 1 / 2 / 3 I 4 / or 6 dependant on each individual horses shape, and saddle fitting requirements.

Description of each individual layer of version to create combination system:-NON SLIP MESH: The special non slip material can be used in either upper side, lower side or on both sides of the product. The rubberised material when in contact with other material, grips to give its non slip, which can on some products eliminate the need for additional strapping.
ADDITIONAL MATERIALS LAYERS: The additional material layers used for example man made or natural -Wool, genuine sheepskin, leather or suede, fleece, cotton or cotton quilted, neoprene, rubberised materials, nylon, rip stop, etc. This combination system is to cover all natural and man made materials. When two layers of materials are used on each side of the memory foam they produce a pocket, this meaning that the memory foam can be removed from product for ease of washing or to add additional memory foam panels.
MEMORY FOAM:-The memory foam when used in equestrian (horse & rider) and pet products gives two main objectives, firstly it moulds to the body of the rider / horse / pony or other pet giving them extra comfort and support, especially if they have joint problems.
Secondly when used in certain products such as a saddle pad, when it moulds it also adds to the non slip by moulding around horse and saddle, making sure it won't slip anywhere. Used as version 4 / 5 or 6 the system creates a pocket, this means there is an extra layer of material added around the memory foam to allow memory foam to be removed, thus meaning the cushioning can be adjusted to suit firm, medium or softer grade material can be added to customise products for customer if required.
Memory foam is used in both solid and crumbed/cubed state in product manufacture dependant on requirements.
