Abstract

An inflatable bed with a circular hole cut out of the middle into which a pregnant, enlarged or sensitive stomach could be positioned when lying face down; the hole relieving any pressure usually exerted on the tummy area when lying face down. The body and head sections are on approximately the same level and the leg section below the hole is lowered to relieve any lower back pressure. There is also a raised rim around the edge of the hole to further lift the stomach also relieving pressure on the lower back.

Description

Holo -The lilo with a hole This is an invention initially thought up for the use of pregnant women on holiday who would like to lie on a lilo on their tummies on the sea or on the beach.
The holo is a simple one piece inflatable bed with a hole cut out of the middle into which a stomach could be positioned when lying down face down; the hole relieving any pressure usually exerted on the stomach area when lying face down. To relieve any pressure on the back, normally exerted by the stomach sinking into the hole, the design is such that the leg section is lower than the head and body sections and also a raised rim is added around the edge of the hole to further elevate the body.
The emphasis on this design is to avoid any lower back press sure as all support has been taken away from under the tummy. Dimensions have been suggested as shown in Figure 1,. but may change on further development of the product.
On further thought, it became obvious it has more uses and could be used at home in bed or on the floor for relaxation and is also not restricted to pregnancy, but to others with enlarged or sensitive stomachs.
It could also solve the dilemma of, buying a lilo OR rubber ring, as can double as both and can be enjoyed by all the family.
It could be supplied as a luxury item made of materials such as faux suede for home use or as a cheaper holiday item in pvc! rubber. There is also the possibility of providing a selection of washable covers enabling dual use; on water without the cover and then with the cover on for a more comfortable feel at home.

Claims (7)

  1. Claims 1. An inflatable bed made up of 3 joined sections, head, body and leg; with a circular hole cut out of the body secc tion in which a stomach can be positioned when lying face down, with a raised rim around the edge of the hole to raise the abdomen and relieve pressure on the lower back.
  2. 2. An inflatable bed of claim I where the leg section is lower than the body and head sections to relieve pressure on the lower back.
  3. 3. An inflatable bed of claim I that can be used on water or land.
  4. 4. An inflatable bed of claim 3 that will have a variable number of air chambers depending on whether made for water or land use.
  5. 5. An inflatable bed of claim I that may have I air chamber for simple inflation or a number of chambers separating each section and raised rim to allow variations in bed structure.
  6. 6. An inflatable bed of claim I that can be used for pregg nancy or for enlarged or sensitive stomachs. -
  7. 7. An inflatable bed of claim I that can be used as a leii sure play item for water based fun.
