Abstract

A retractable file cabinet (A) comprising: two side plates (10, 10B) arranged at interval, and a retractable casing (20) between two side plates(10, 10B); the retractable casing (20) contains at least a partition board (21) as well as a front/rear wall (22, 23) and a footwall (24) that can be expanded flexibly; bevelled edges (11, 211) are formed on the upper part of two side plates (10, 10B) and the partition board (21), such that magazines or books placed in the retractable casing are partially exposed over the bevelled edge (11, 211); with this design, when the file cabinet (A) is in idle state, it can be compressed so as to reduce greatly the transportation and warehousing cost while allowing to carry and use it more conveniently with better industrial efficiency.

Description

A RETRACTABLE FILE CABINET

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates generally to a file cabinet, and more particularly to an innovative one which is designed structurally with a retractable space.

2. Description of Related Art

In the everyday life, the people often need to put some files or magazines into the shelves or cabinets in an orderly manner.

However, the available shelves or cabinets for the files or magazines are generally designed into a solid shape, which requires a bigger space for carrying and storage, leading to much higher increase of operational cost and lower economic efficiency.

From the perspective of the customers, they will feel confused when the fixed shelves or cabinets are no longer used or need to be shifted; when such shelves or cabinets are placed on the table, the fixed shape makes it impossible to adjust the storage space, leading to inconvenience and higher inflexibility.

Thus, to overcome the aforementioned problems of the prior art, it would be an advancement in the art to provide an improved structure that can significantly improve the efficacy.

Therefore, the inventor has provided the present invention of practicability after deliberate design and evaluation based on years of experience in the production, development and design of related products.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The enhanced efficacy of the present invention is as follows: Based on the innovative design of the present invention that the retractable file cabinet is mainly fitted with two alternated side plates along with a retractable casing, the file cabinet can be compressed greatly, thus saving significantly the transportation and warehousing cost, and enabling the users to carry and place it more flexibly and conveniently.

The improvements brought about by this invention are as follow: Based on the structural design that two side plates are provided with a handle hole, allowing to hold manually two side plates and shift the entire retractable file cabinet easily.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The features and the advantages of the present invention will be more readily understood upon a thoughiful deliberation of the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment of the present invention with reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIGS. 1 2 depict preferred embodiments of retractable file cabinet of the present invention, which, however, are provided for only explanatory objective for patent claims. The retractable file cabinet A comprising: two spaced side plates 10, lOB, a retractable casing 20 between the two side plates 10, lOB, the retractable casing 20 containing at least a partition board 21 as well as a front wall 22, a rear wall 23 and a footwall 24(shown in FIG. 2) that can be expanded flexibly; angled or bevelled edges 11, 211 are formed on the upper part of two side plates 10, lOB and the partition board 21, such that magazines or books 30 placed in the retractable casing 20 are partially exposed from the retractable casing 20; moreover, the bevelled edge 11, 211 can also be designed into curved, twisted and corrugated shapes in addition to a straight shape in FIG. 1.

Referring to FIG. 3, two side plates 10, lOB are fitted with a handle hole 12, allowing the two side plates 10, lOB to be held and shift the entire retractable file cabinet A. The front wall 22, rear wall 23 and footwall 24 of the retractable casing 20 are made of V-shaped corrugated plates(e.g. plastic sheet).

Referring to FIG. 2, the bottom of the partition board 21 is securely connected with the footwall 24 of the retractable casing 20 (e.g. by means of hot pressing).

Referring to FIG. 1, some indexing tabs are placed on the upper part of the partition board 21, and also provided with a gap for inserting paper sheets and marking the partition space for assorted placement in the partition board 21.

Based on above-specified structural design, the present invention is operated as follows: Since the retractable casing 20 of the retractable file cabinet A can be expanded or retracted under stress, when the retractable file cabinet A is intended to accommodate files, magazines or books 30, the retractable casing 20 can be pulled outwards as shown in FIG. 2, and the retractable file cabinet A is positioned by two side plates 10, lOB; the intended magazines or books 30(shown in FIG. 1) can be inserted into the grooves shaped between partition boards 21 of the retractable casing 20, and the upper part of the magazines or books is exposed over the bevelled edge 11, 211 on these two side plates 10, lOB and the partition board 21 for convenient access.

Referring also to FIGS. 3, 4, when the retractable file cabinet A is in idle state, the retractable casing 20 allows it to be compressed, thereby helping to reduce the warehousing and operating cost while carrying and using it more conveniently.

Additionally, the retractable file cabinet A with retractable casing 20 permits the users to adjust the spacing of two side plates 10, lOB depending on the number of magazines or books, thus realizing space-saving and flexible application. Furthermore, when thin-profile documents are placed in the retractable file cabinet A, the retractable casing 20 will be compressed, enabling the users to carry easily the retractable file cabinet A in a handbag; it is thus clear that the retractable file cabinet A of the present invention is well-suited for various applications as a filing cabinet vertically placed on the table or as a flexible file binder.

Claims (5)

1. CLAIMS: 1. A retractable file cabinet, comprising: two side plates arranged at interval, and a retractable casing between two side plates; the retractable casing contains at least a partition board as well as a front wall, a rear wall and a footwall that can be expanded flexibly; bevelled edges are formed on the upper part of two side plates and the partition board, such that magazines or books placed in the retractable casing are partially exposed over the bevelled edge.
2. 2. The structure defined in Claim 1, wherein two side plates are provided with a handle hole.
3. 3. The structure defined in Claim 1, wherein the front wall rear wall and footwall of the retractable casing are made of V-shaped corrugated plates.
4. 4. The structure defined in Claim 1, wherein the bottom of the partition board is securely connected with the footwall of the retractable casing.
5. 5. The structure defined in Claim 1, wherein some indexing tabs are placed on the upper part of the partition board.
