Abstract

The present invention relates to a stand (10) for mounting a pole, the stand comprising a set of panels (14, IS, 18) which are configurable to form together a container which has a base (14) for resting stably upon a supporting surface, which forms an enclosed internal space for receipt of ballast, and which is provided with means for receiving and releasably mounting a lower end of an upright pole, the panels being re-configurable to form a more compact arrangement for storage and transportation.
