Closed solid-fuel stoves: ashes, collecting: boilers, arrangement of.-In a stove of the kind in which a chute 10 is formed at the front of the grate to direct ashes into the ash-space, a trivet-door 13 is hinged just in front of the guide 9 forming the front of the chute so that it may either rest in an inclined position against the grate front, or be turned down to the horizontal position; the constriction avoids any gap. through which cinders might fall, between the lower edge of the door 13 and the guide 9. The ashpan 8 is provided with a front ventilator 19 behind which is a vertical baffle plate 20 to keep the ashes from it.
