Abstract

A suit 1 for a child has a jacket portion and a trouser portion. The jacket and trouser portions have adjustable cuffs 4A, 4B, 8A and 8B, the jacket also has an adjustable neck 10. The adjustable portions may be elasticated and adjusted in size using hook and loop fasteners. The jacket and trouser portions may be integral or releasably joined.

Description

Title Child Suit The present invention relates to a child's suit.

When small children eat or play with paints or other types of art material, their clothes can become soiled. it is known to provkle bibs for children whilst they eat, but these do nol cover all the body and clothing stilt becomes soiled. It is also known to provide protective body suits, but the seals around the ankles and seals are of a singie size and tend to allow entiy of liquid and material inside the suit still soiling the chitd's clothes.

The invention seeks to provide a solution to this problem.

According to the present invention there is provided a suit for a child comprising: A) ajacket portion having a pair of arms and upper torso component, said arms having wrist apertures and the upper torso component a neck aperture, and B) a trouser portion having a pair of legs and a lower torso component, said legs having ankle apertures, said wrist apertures and ankle apertures having adjustable seals to accommodate different sizes of wrists and ankles of a'wearer The adjustable seals may an elasticated aperture. The aperture may he adjusted in size using Velcro.

The jacket portion and trouser portion may he integrally formed. Alternatively the jacket portion and trouser portion may he releasably joined together, e.g. with Velcro.

The neck aperture may have an adjustable seal to accommodate different sizes of neck of a wearer. The neck seal may be adjusted in size, e.g. using Velcro.

The upper and/or lower torso component may include a front or rear slot to facilitate entry of the child into the suit. The slot may he closeable by a fastener such as a zip or Velcro.

Embodiments of the invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: Figures IA and lB show a front and rear view of an all in one eating suit.

Figures 2A and 2B show a front and rear view of an all in one art suit.

Figures 3A and 3B show a front and rear view of a two piece art suit, and Figures 4A and 413 show a front and rear view of a two piece eating suit.

Referring to Figures IA and I B, there is shown an all in one eating suit I for a child. Suit I has a jacket portion having a pair of arms 2A,2B and upper torso component 3. Arms 2A,2B have wrist apertures 4A,4B, and the upper torso component 3 has a neck aperture 5. Suit I also has a trouser portion having a pair of legs 6A,6B and a lower torso component 7. Legs have ankle apertures 8A,8B. Wrist apertures 4A,4B and ankle apertures 8A,8B have adjustable seals in the form of elasticated apertures which may be adjusted in size using Velcro. Legs 6A,6B may have slots 9A,9B up the legs 6A,6B closable by Velcro. Neck aperture 5 has an adjustable Velcro seal 10 to accommodate different sizes of neck of a wearer. The upper torso component includes a rear slot 11 to facilitate entry of the child into the suit. The slot 11 may he closeable by a fastener such as Velcro.

The jacket portion and trouser portion is integrally formed. Suit] may he formed of a waterproof fabric.

Referring to Figures 2A and 2B, there is shown an all in one art suit 21 for a child. Suit 21 has a jacket portion having a pair of arms 22A,22B and upper torso component 23. Arms 22A,22B have wrist apertures 24A,2413, and the upper torso component 23 has a neck aperture 25. Suit 2] also has a trouser portion having a pair of legs 26A,26B and a lower torso component 27. Legs having ankle apertures 28A,28B. Wrist apertures 24A,24B and ankle apertures 28A,28B have adjustable seals in the form of elasticated apertures which may be adjusted in size using Velcro. The upper torso component includes a front slot 29 to facilitate entiy of the child into the suit. The slot 29 may be closeable by a fastener such as a zip.

The jacket portion and trouser portion is integrally formed. Suit 21 may he formed of a waterproof titbric Referring to Figures 3A and 3B, there is shown a two piece art suit 31 for a child. Suit 31 has aackei portion having a pair of arms 32A,32B and tipper torso component 31 Arms 32A.32B have wrist apertures 34A,34B, and the upper torso component 33 has a neck aperture 35. Suit 31 also has a trouser portion having a pair of legs 36A,36B and a lower torso component 37. Legs 36A,36B have ankle apertures 38A,38B. Wrist apertures 34A,34B and ankle apertures 38A,38B have adjustable seals in the form of elasticated apertures which may be adjusted in size using Velcro. The upper torso component includes a front slot 39 to facilitate entry of the child into the suit. The slot 39 may be closeable by a fastener such as a zip. The lower torso component includes a rear slot 40 to facilitate entry of the child into the suit. The slot 40 may be closeable by a fastener such as Velcro.

The jacket portion and trouser portion are separate, but releasably joined together, e.g. with Velcro 41 at the bottom of the jacket portion and at the top of the trouser portion.

Suit 3] may be formed of a waterproof fabric Referring to Figures 4A and 4B, there is shown a two piece eating suit 51 for a child. Suit 51 has a jacket portion having a pair of arms 52A,52B and upper torso component 53. Arms 52A,52B have wrist apertures 54A,54B, and the upper torso component 53 has a neck aperture 55. Suit 51 also has i trouser portion having a pair of legs 56A,56B and a lower torso component 57. Legs 56A,56B have ankle apertures 58A,58B. Wrist apertures 54A,548 and ankle apertures 58A,58B have adjustable seals in the form of elasticated apertures which may be adjusted in size using Velcro. The upper torso component includes a rear slot 59 to facilitate entry of the child into the Suit. The slot 59 may he closeahie by a fastener such as Velcro. The lower torso component includes a rear slot 60 to facilitate entry of the child into the suit. The slot 60 may be closeable by a fastener such as Velcro. Neck aperture 55 has an adjustable Velcro seal 61 to accommodate different sizes of neck of a wearer.

The jacket portion and trouser portion are separate, but releasably joined together. e.g. with Velcro 62 at the bottom of the jacket portion and at the top of the trouser portion.

Suit 51 may be formed of a waterproof fabrjc The invention may take a form different to that specifically described above.

Further modifications will be apparent to those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the present invention.

Claims (10)

1. A suit for a child comprising: A) a jacket portion having a pair of arms and upper torso component, said arms having wrist apertures and the upper torso component a neck aperture, and B) a trouser portion having a pair of legs and a lower torso component, said legs having ankle apertures, said wrist apertures and ankle apertures having adjustable seals to accommodate different sizes of wrists and ankles of a wearer.
2. A suit according to claim 1, wherein the adjustable seals are an elasticated aperture.
3. A suit according to claim I or 2, wherein the aperture may be adjusted in size using Velcro.
4. A suit according to claim 1, 2 or 3, wherein the jacket portion and trouser portion are integrally formed.
5. A suit according to claim 1, 2, or 3, wherein the jacket portion and trouser portion are releasably joined together, e.g. with Velcro.
6. A suit according to any preceding claim, wherein the neck aperture has an adjustable seal to accommodate different sizes of neck of a wearer.
7. A suit according to claim 6, wherein the neck seal is adjusted in size using Velcro.
8. A suit according to any preceding claim, wherein the upper and/or lower torso component may include a front or rear slot to facilitate entry of the child into the suit.
9. A suit according to claim 8, wherein the slot is closed by a fastener such as a zip or Velcro.
10. A suit for a child substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to and as shown in the accompanying drawings.
