Abstract
242,134. Buchanan, A. T. Feb. 14, 1925. Bore-hole apparatus.-A rotary well-boring bit has a renewable cutting part 3 of carborundum, steel, &c. connected to the bit body as by a dovetail connection 4, and either bolts &c. 6 engaging bores in the two parts, or a flanged sleeve 10 and a nut 13. The lower end of the cutting part is dished or inwardly coned. A central water &c. passage 15 leads to ducts 18 connecting with, side grooves 16 forming return passages, thelower ends 19 of the grooves 16 being widened and deepened and their edges forming cutters.
