Abstract

A comb, for removing head lice, has a body 1 constructed from flexible plastic material and is furnished with two sets of fine teeth 2 on opposing sides of the body. In use the body is folded over to bring the two sets of teeth together to create a double row of teeth. Lice can be teased from a persons hair and remain trapped between the sets of teeth before being removed by washing.

Description

2396 1 04
LICE COMB
This invention relates to a lice comb.
Lice combs are well known for removing lice, and their eggs from the effected head.
There are lice combs that has one row of teeth either end of a square-ish piece of plastic. The teeth on this comb has one row finer than the other. There are lice combs that has only one row of teeth to comb through the head, these teeth can be metal; or plastic. There is also a lice comb that has two row's of metal teeth, set slightly apart from each other in plastic. This comb has a little handle for easy combing.
However, with these combs lice can easily jump from the head or comb whilst treating and these combs can break a lot of hair.
Many repeated combing's are often required to remove the lice that slipped through the teeth in the previous combing.
According to the present invention there is provided a lice comb comprising of a 'Butterfly wings' shaped piece of plastic with one row of fine teeth either end of it. This is folded in half to give it the flexibility to open and close with a technique described as 'Squeeze and Hold'.
The two row's of teeth come together to create one row of double teeth. The lice get trapped in between the two row's of teeth, thus stopping much of the lice from jumping, either from the head, or comb.
It breaks a lot less hair making it especially good for long hair. Once combed through the head the squeeze and hold of the comb can be released to wash the lice out of the comb.
Figure 1 shows the 'Butterfly wings' shape to the comb: Figure 2 shows the comb once folded, ready for use: Figure 3 illustrates the comb when the two row's of teeth have been squeezed together.
Referring to the drawing Fig 1 the comb comprises a 'Butterfly Wings' shaped plastic 1, and two rows of teeth 2 either end of 1.
In the drawing of Fig 2 the plastic 1 has been folded in half creating two row's of teeth 2 that can come together as in Fig 3 with the squeeze and hold technique, trapping the lice in the middle of the two row's of teeth 2, and plastic 1.
