Moulds; tamping-machines. - Ferro-concrete beams, particularly of I-section, are moulded between a pair of side walls of which one is movable vertically by link mechanism clear of the moulded beam, which is then removed laterally on to a drying frame. As shown, the side walls consist of channel irons 1, 2 supported a little above a drying frame 3. The wall 1 is movable vertically by a hand lever 14<a> through link mechanism 14, 15, 16 counter-weighted at 17 and carried by an end bracket 13 secured to the wall 2. The beam is moulded horizontally upon bottom members 4, 6 grooved at 4<a>, 6<a> to form interlocking projections on the beam flanges, and spaced apart by an intermediate rabbeted member 5. During moulding, the walls 1, 2 are clamped between jaws 10, 11 pivotally mounted in supports 8, 9 on bars 7. The jaws 11 are secured to the lower flange of the wall 2 by clamps 11<a>, 11<b>, and the jaws are forced together by cam levers 12 on the plates 8. After moulding, the levers 12 are released and the bars 7 turned down about the pivots 8<a>. A top moulding member 20 is carried by a frame 21, 21a adjustably mounted on brackets 22 supported by the upper flanges of the walls 1, 2. Material is fed into the mould between the walls 1, 2 and member 20 and is moulded by rammers 23, 24 carried by levers 25, 26 on the frame 21, 21a.
