Abstract

Methods and systems for the acquisition and distribution of digital information ("consent") in which content is received from a number of sources (on-line news agencies, the Web/Internet, document imaging systems etc), indexed and stored using a database system, and distributed to users on the basis of user profiles against which newly acquired content is matched, via a number of different content delivery and access channels (e-mail, SMS, fax, Web and WAP browsers etc.) defined by said user profiles. Content may be actively delivered to users, stored for retrieval by users, and formatted for publication to users. Browser based user-interfaces simplify system administration and user interaction.
