Abstract

A user provides unique identity information about a piece of digital information that they would like to see, hear and/or use into an interface along with their contact details. The system provides a key phrase to the user; this key phrase is then entered into the system via the telephone, which provides the user with a pass phrase. This pass phrase can then be entered into a digital information system they would like to see, hear and or use.

Description

<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
Description (of the FlexiblePay Base System) This invention relates to a pass key generation system "Pass Keys"or in the software industry's terminology"software keys"are normally a series of letters, numbers or a combination of letters and numbers. These permit the use of software on a trial basis, permanent basis or limited functionality basis. They are also used with the same characteristics to permit the use of all digital information such as digital books, digital music and digital video in controlled ways.
The problem is the distribution and generation of these"pass keys"has been historically fraught with difficulty.
According to the present invention, the"pass key"is generated by an"email"system which obtains"user"details about the user and the"digital information". During this process the"user" also pays for the"pass key"and the"payment mechanism"using a"telephone system"which is also part of the process.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the included drawing in which: Step1 : User sends their"TITLE KEY" & "CONTACT DETAILS"to the"SYSTEM" Step2: The SYSTEM returns a telephone number to call and a "key phrase"to enter.
Step3: User reads their email and enters the"key phrase"when prompted into the telephone system.
Step4: The system DELIVERS the user the"pass key" Step5 : The system may DELIVER the author of the digital information a record of the transaction

  2. 2. The Unique keying of digital information relating to claim 1 The TITLE KEY is equal to TITLE Identification number & SEED Key. This may relate to a particular moment in time at or near to the collection point in both a time period or even a physical identification between the digital information playing device.
    N. B.
    TITLE Identification number-this is a unique reference to the digital information to be unlocked SEED KEY-this is a potential random key in combination, with the identity and time information, that is derived from the digital player, viewer's system or physical digital peripheral.
    " & "is used to figuratively describe a mathematical operation not the literal mathematical logical "AND" operation.
  3. 3. The system generates a KEY PHASE on receiving a TITLE KEY from a user (see claim 2).
  4. 4. When the user submits the KEY PHASE to the system, the system generates a PASS KEY (see claim 3).
  5. 5. The system logs and audits all aspects of the information gathering and the KEY PHRASE and PASS KEY generation
