Abstract

A decoration light has a light bulb (22,42), a cover (21,41) mounted over the light bulb (22,42), a deformable light conduction pipe (10,30) with one end thereof being inserted into the cover (21,41), and, an electric cord (23,43) electrically connected to the light bulb (22,42). The light conduction pipe (10,30) is able to be bent into a variety of shapes and then alone, or collectively by a plurality of such pipes, form a variety of flat or tri-dimensional patterns. The duration of illumination of one or some of the bulbs can be determined by a control circuit.

Description

DECORATION LIGHT 1. Field of the Invention The invention relates to a decoration light, especially to a kind of light made up of light conduction pipes that are able to be bent into a variety of shapes to alone, or collectively, make up a variety of patterns.
2. Description of Related Art Sometimes, for example, at a festival or in a ceremony, people would like to use some decoration lights to enhance the party atmosphere. At present, there are three types of decoration lights most commonly used. One of those is the light string which includes a plurality of light bulbs that are electrically connected by a cord, and the cord is hung on buildings or trees. The second type is a light board which comprises a base board on which a plurality of light bulbs are arrayed, and the bulbs are connected to a control circuit that can control some or all the light bulbs to make a certain pattern. The third one is neon lighting wherein tubes are formed in attractive shapes and colors and emit attractive light.
However, all the above decoration lights have their shortcomings. It is difficult for the string lights to present a certain pattern, and especially for the very long string, it is especially difficult to hang and store it. For the light board, the base board thereof is usually very heavy and thus not easy to transport and install. The neon light is liable to break and more important, it is expensive.
The main object of the invention is to provide an improved decoration light with which it is easy to make a variety of patterns, is not expensive, and is not liable to break.
Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.
In the drawings: Fig. 1 is an exploded perspective view of the invention; Fig. 2 is a flat schematic view showing a flat pattern made up of the invention; and, Fig. 3 is a schematic perspective view showing a tri-dimensional pattern made up of the invention.
With reference to Fig. 1, the decoration light of the invention includes a light conduction pipe (10,30) and a light source (20,40).
The light conduction pipe (10, 30) is formed from a shapeable material and can be bent to a variety of different shapes, for example, a circle, an S-like shape, a triangle, and so on. The light source (20,40) has a light bulb (22,42), a tube-like cover (21, 41) mounted over the light bulb (22,42), and an electric cord (23,43) electrically connected to the light bulb (22,42). One end of the light conduction pipe (10,30) is able to be
inserted into the cover (21, 41), after which, when the light bulb (22, 42) gives off light, the whole light conduction pipe (10, 30) is able to evenly give off light.
Referring to Fig. 2, at least one light conduction pipe (10, 30) is bent to a certain shape and then fastened onto a grill (50) by fastening belts (24). Thus, the one or a plurality of the light conduction pipes (10, 30) are able to alone or collectively make up a certain pattern needed. As shown in Fig. 2, a plurality of light conduction pipes (10, 30) make up a flat pattern forming a word,"Joden". As shown in Fig. 3, three light conduction pipes (10,30) are bent into circles respectively and two ends of each pipe (10, 30) overlap and are fastened together by one of the fastening belts (24). Two circled pipes (10,30) are fastened between two straight pipes (10,30). The third circled
pipe (10, 30) is fastened to one straight pipe (10, 30) with its plane being at a certain angle with respect to the straight pipe (10, 30) it is fastened to, and extending away from the other circled pipes (10,30). Therefore, the light conduction pipes (10,30) used in this embodiment make up a tri-dimensional pattern.
The at least one bulb used in a certain decoration light is electrically connected to a control circuit to control the time and duration the bulb is turned on and off. Thus, by controlling the actuation and lighting duration of one or some or all the bulbs used in the decoration light, the light conduction pipes are able to present a wide variety of patterns.
From above description, it is understood that compared with the conventional decoration lights described in the prior art, the decoration light of the invention has the following benefits: 1. It is able to be bent to a variety of shapes and is able to alone or collectively make up a variety of patterns; 2. It is not liable to break; 3. It is light in weight thus easy to carry and install.
It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
