Abstract

An electrically switchable spray generator is provided for simultaneously generating multiple streams of droplets. Pulsatile and resonant methods of operating such an electrically switchable spray generator are also provided. Travelling waves (19, 20) are generated within and on the surface of a flexural plate (3) by actuator means (1) such that the confluence of these waves coincides with a linear array of nozzles (4). Liquid supplied to the nozzles is thereby caused to be ejected simultaneously.
