Abstract

A cricket sightscreen which can be easily assembled and put into place when needed, but can be quickly dismantled into component parts for transport or storage, preferably incorporates a flexible screen, eg of heavy duty woven PVC, threaded over a telescoping lower bar and two-part interlocking vertical and upper bars, all mounted on detachable wheels.

The concept calls for the manufacture and distribution of a ricket sight screen that can be easily assembied and put in place when needed for a match yet car : aLso be quickly dismantled into its component parts for transport or storage.

To accomplish this, The Gemini Screen would be configured as shown in the accompanying illustration (sce Chapter Frou, Portrayal). The device would consist of a collapsible screen measuring 14' wide by 12' high when assembled. The framework would be fabricated from metal with a powdercoat finish while the screen would be made from heavy duty woven PVC. The frame would also be fitted with pneumatic wheels. The device comprises of two vertical and two horizontal bars with the lower bar being formed in a feiescupic manner wiule the upper horizontal and two vertical bars each comprise of two interlocking sections. The wheels are set out on poles at an angle 4' each side of the lower bar.

The PVC sereen is threaded over the two vertical bars and is then threaded through the top in similar feshion where it locates in two grooves at the top of the verticals. Assembly to pitch position can, be achieved in less than ten minutes. Once assembled, the screen can be caslly . moved with no pitch damage.

With this arrangement, The Gemini Screen would eliminate the risk of vandalism or other forms of darnage that can befall a fixed-position sight screen. As this screen can be easily disassembled for transport in an average sized hatchback automobile or for storage in a garage, garden shed, or pavilion, it would not fall prey to the deterioration that can occur with screens ! eft out in'the elements for extended periods. l he Gn i. Claims

CLAIM 1) A cricket sight screen comprising of a screen attached to an interlocking frame, with the touer bar mounted on four stabilising wheels, Amendments to the claims have been filed as follows Claim 1 A cricket sight screen comprising of a screen attache to an interlocking frame with lower bar mounted on four interlocking stabilising wheels Claim 2 A cricket sight screen as in claim 1 which comprises of a mesh screen attached to an easily assembled and dismantled interlocking frame, with the lower horizontal bar mounted on four stabilising wheels Claim 3 A cricket sight screen as in claim 1 and 2 wherein the interlocking frame comprises of two vertical and two horizontal bars each comprising of two sections. The ssower horizontal bar being formed by fitting together in a telescopic manner. The stabilising wheels interlock with the lower horizontal bar. All connections where necessary are secured by pins as shown in the covering drawing.
