Abstract
A dog lead attachment comprises a rigid tube 1, and a loop 2 of chain passing through the tube. The chain has a lead connector 4 attached thereto, and the tube is movable along part of the length of the loop so as to position the connector bewteen either of the positions shown in figures 1 or 2. The chain is held in the desired position by means of clip 5. Ring 3 is used to pull the chain through the tube.
Description
DOG LEAD STABIUSER AND EXTENDER
This invention relates to a device to stabilise and extend a standard dog lead, giving better control. This device makes it much easier to control dogs on leads especially in a confined area.
The present invention comprises of a hard rigid tube through which a chain is passed and joined to form a loop. A ring is attached to the chain to enable the chain to be pulled through the tube. At a point opposite the ring, a clip and swivel is attached to the chain, to this clip the dog leads are attached. A clip is also fixed to the tube to enable the handler to fix the chain at any position, thus varying the length of the leads.
The invention will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 shows the device in the extended position.
Fig. 2 shows the device when the leads have been pulled through the tube.
Referring to the drawings, the invention comprises of a hard rigid tube (1) through which a chain (2) is passed and the ends joined. To move the chain through the tube, a ring (3) is attached to the chain. The clip and swivel (4) is attached to the chain at a point opposite the ring (3). The dog leads (7) are attached to the clip (4) and moved through the tube by pulling ring (3). The chain can be fixed at any position by means of clip (5). To make the invention into an extension, the clip (5) is released and clip (4) is pulled back through the tube as in fig. 1. To stop the leads getting tangled,
swivel joints (6) are fitted td the clip (4). A handle (8) is attached to the tube to give
better grip.
Claims (1)
- CLAIMS A hard rigid tube, through which a chain is passed and joined to form a loop. A ring is attached to the chain, to enable the chain to be pulled through the tube. A clip and swivel is attached to the chain at a point opposite the ring. The dog leads are attached to this clip. Another clip is attached to the tube. This enables the chain to be fixed at the required position, thus varying the length of the leads.
