Abstract

An improved hydraulic coupling suitable for interconnecting subsea fluid lines is provided with a radial seal between the male and female couplers (1, 11). A pressure-responsive seal (31) is held in the female coupler by a sleeve (32) external of the female coupler and a separate annulus (39) inside the sleeve. A pressure responsive second seal (37) is provided in a recess in the sleeve, and sealingly engages the same diameter cylindrical surface of the male coupler which is engaged by the first seal. The second seal is kept in place by means of internal rings (38) separate from and held in by the sleeve.
