Abstract

A vessel for use with a dispensing pump, includes a vessel body (11 Fig. 1) containing therein a viscous lotion, and a closure 12 having a relatively small area 122 which includes a closing cap 126 capable of being relatively easily disengaged therefrom for exposing the lotion. A dispensing pump can be introduced into the vessel via an opening created by removal of the cap 126 and can be engaged with the area 122 eg. by means of a threaded tube 123 surrounding the opening. <IMAGE>

Description

VESSEL FOR USE WITH DISPENSING PUMP The present invention relates to a vessel, and more particularly to one for use with a dispensing pump.

A viscous, sticky or pasty lotion such as the shampoo.

conditioner, hand soap or foodadditive is always contained in a bottle capable of being inclined or comPressed to obtain therefrom a small quantity of lotion for use.

If the bottle or jar is relatively large, e.g. of 24oz (710ml) 32 Oz (940ml) or more containting volume, it will be inappropriate to obtain the contained lotion by inclining or compressing the jar or bottle thusrequiring a dispensing pump which. nevertheless, results in the fo I- lowing disadvantages 1) A jar incorporating thereon a dispensing pump occupying a largor packaging volume.

2) If every jar has a dispensing pump, the dispensing pump needs not be repeatedly put into use which represents one kind of waste and one kind of cost-ineffectiveness.

It is therefore tried by the Applicant to deal with the above disadvantages encountered by the prior art.

SUMMARY OF THE INVElIT10t1 It is therefore an obJect of the present invention to provide a vessel for use with a dispensing pump capable of being repeatedly put into use.

It is further an object of the preset invention to provide a vessel having a closure havins a relatively small area which is capable of being opened to expose a lotion contained in the vessel and of of sssine therethrough and engaging thereto the dispensing pump.

It is additional an object of the present invention to provide a vessel for use with a dispensing pump for the purpose that the vessel has a small': ackaging volume.

According to the present invention, a vessel for use with a dispensing pump includes a vessel bo(y containing therein a lotion to be gradually dispensed out of the vessel by the dispensing pump, and a closure having a relatively small area which includes a closing csp capable of being easily disengaged from the small area for exposineg the lotion and is capable of passing therethrough and engaging thereto the dispensing pump for incorporating together the vessel and the dispensing pump.

The present invention may best be understood through the followin8 description with reference to t the accompanying , drawings in which BRIEF DESCRIPTION OFTHE DRAWING Fig.1 is a perspective view showing a preferred embodiment of a dispensing pump and a vessel according to t the Present invention; Fig.2 is a sectional view showing a closure of a vessel in Fig. 1; Fig.3 is a sectional view showing a closure in Fig.2 with a closing cap thereof being disengaged thcrcfrom; and Fig.4 is a perspective view showing a dispensing pump and a vessel in Fig. 1 being incorporated together.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF TUE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT Referring now to Figs.1-4, a preferred embodiment of a vessel 10 for use with a dispensing p pump 20 according to the present invention includes a jar (vessel) body 11 containing therein a lotion of a high viscosity and having a top outer thread. and a closure 12 covered on jar body 11 for incorporating together vessel 10 and dispensing pump 20.

Closure 12 includes an inner thread 121 matchable with the outer thread or jar body 11, and a relatively small area 122 which includes a threaded tube 123 having a central hollow 125 closed by a closing cap 126 which includes a thinned outer annulus 127 and a pulling ring 128 having a hole 129 for passing therethrough one finger of a user who can thus easily pull upwards ring 128 to disengage cap 126 from small area 122 for exposing the lotion.

Dispensing pump 20 is widely used in industry and in the present invention includes a pressing head 21 having an outlet 211, a piston 22, a locking annulus 23 having an inner thread matchable with threaded t.ubc 123 and a central opening 231 passing therethrough t piston rod 212, a cylindrical chamber 24 coaxially guiding therein piston 22, a compression spring 25 positioned in chamber 24 for upwardly biassing Piston 22 , arid a drawing pipe 26 communicating jar body 11 with chamber 24 The operation of the present invention is as follows: Ring 128 is upwardly pulled until cap 126 is torn away from closure 12 . Then , pipe 26 is inserted into jar 11 and locking annulus 23 is screwed on threaded tube 123 to present an assembly as shown in Fig.4 for use. If head 21 is now downwardly Pressed, one can obtain a small quantity of lotion from outlet 211. Vessel (jar) 10 according to the present invention and dispensing pump 20 thus can be separately packaged so that the packaging bulk for jar 10 is reduced. In addition, a dispensing pump 20 can be repeatedly put into use with a new jar lO.AltcrnativelYf if so desired . a vessel with a dispensing pump as shown in Fig. 4 can also directly be manufactured for sale.

Preferably, the area 122 occupies less than one quarter of the overall area of the closure 12 as considered in a plane perpendicular to the direction in which the dispensing p'nnp is introduced into the vessel0

Claims (8)

  1. CLAIMS 1. A vessel for use with a dispensing pump, comprising a vessel body adapted to contain therein a lotion of a relatively high viscosity adapted to be gradually dispensed out of said vessel by said dispensing pump; and a closure provided on said vessel body and having a relatively small area which includes a closing cap capable of being relatively easily disengaged from said small area for exposing said lotion and is capable of passing therethrough and engaging thereto said dispensing pump for incorporating together said vessel and said dispensing pump.
  2. 2. A vessel according to Claim 1, wherein a plane area of said small area is smaller than one fourth that of said closure.
  3. 3. A vessel according to Claim 1, further comprising said dispensing pump incorporated to said closure.
  4. 4. A vessel with a dispensing pump comprising a vessel body adapted to contain therein a lotion of a relatively high viscosity; a dispensing pump capable of gradually dispensing said lotion out of said vessel; and a closure provided on said vessel body and having a relatively small area which includes a closing cap capable of being relatively easily disengaged from said small area for exposing said lotion and passes therethrough and engages thereto said dispensing pump.
  5. 5. A closure for mounting on a vessel body adapted to contain therein a lotion of a relatively high viscosity adapted to be gradually dispensed out of said vessel body by a dispensing pump, and having a relatively small area which includes a closing cap capable of being relatively easily disengaged from said small area for exposing said lotion and which is capable of passing therethrough and engaging thereto said dispensing pump for incorporating together said closure and said dispensing pump.
  6. 6. A vessel substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
  7. 7. A vessel and a dispensing pump substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
  8. 8. A closure for a vessel, substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to Figures 2 and 3 of the accompanying drawings.
