Abstract

A method for winding up and unwinding a row of flat articles, especially printed matters, arranged in scale formation, on to and off an accumulation cylinder, where the flat articles are advanced together with at least one winder band, on which they are supported. Such a method is disclosed, whereby it is possible in a simple manner to make use of accumulation cylinders having an inclined or vertical axis for economizing space around the cylinder, the winder band placed one layer deeper on the accumulation cylinder being guided through an outer loop portion (2AA) and used for guiding the articles (1A) to and from the cylinder in the area close thereto. Hereby even the use of winder band is economized.
