Abstract

A calculator has an upper surface provided with a display screen 124 and a casing 2 slidable on said calculator between a first inoperative position covering the display screen and a second operative position exposing the display screen. The casing has flexible transparent portions 21 which register with pushbuttons 122 on the calculator when the casing is in its second position to enable operation of the pushbuttons. After use, the user slides the casing along the calculator body to cover the display screen and to uncover the logo 125 on the calculator body. <IMAGE>

Description

CALCULATOR WITH PROTECTION CASING This invention relates to calculators.

Calculators have been used now for many years and have become more and more numerous and complex. Current calculators are usually provided with a holder or bag for the calculator to protect the calculator when not in use.

Such holderes are rather easily stained and damaged and tend to become unusable after short periods of time.

Present invention seeks to provide a calculator with protective casing.

Accordingly the present invention provides a calculator having an upper surface provided with a display screen and a casing slideable on said calculator between a first inoperative position covering said display screen and a second operative position exposing said display screen; and when said casing has flexible transparent portions which register with pushbottons on said calculator when said casing is in its second position to enable operation of said pushbotton.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION: This creation concerns a construction of calculating machine with protection casing, and on the plate block of the machine body is established a casing piece, and by means of the casing piece moving on the plate block, the transparent signs thereon are made to coordinate with the push buttons on the plate block for us to use, or the piece body covers the push buttons and figure display screen, for us to use over, then the trademark is shown out, achieving the practicability of protecting the machine body and enhancing the effect of advertising.

The present invention is further described hereinafter, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a perspective view of a calculator and separate casing according to this invention.

Figure 2 is a plan view of another form of calculator according to this invention; Figure 3 is a plan view of a further form of calculator according to this invention; Figure 4 is a perspective view of the calculator and casing of fig. 1 combined; Figure 5 is a section on the line 5-5 of Figure 4; Figure 6 is a further view of the calculator of Figure 4; and Figure 7 is a section of the line 7-7 of Figure 6.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT: Reference to figures 1 to 3, the calculator 1 has a raised bezel around a solar energy plate 111, and an upper flat surface plate with an alpha numeric display screen 124, push buttons 122, and logo or trademark 125. On the surface of the push buttons 122 may be found signs, blocks (fig. 2) or several horizontal blocks (fig.3) in light colours (such as white), with the flat upper surface plate 12 a dark colour (such as black, blue, etc). The two lateral edges of plate 12 are each formed by a convex rail 121 with a sandwiched end stop 123 at the end opposite the energy plate 11.

A casing 2 is provided which has depending and inwardly turned flanges 22 which slidably engage in groves in the rails 121 to enable the casing to be slid over the plate 12.

The casing has transparent signs 21 corresponding to and alignable with the signs on the pushbuttons 122, the casing being of a dark colour.

When the casing is slid onto the calculator, in use the transparent signs on the casing 2 are in register with the signs or district blocks or strips on the push buttons 122, on the surface plate 12, and as these are of a light colour they are visible to the user. The casing 2 has a flexible surface which enables actuation of the pushbuttons while they are covered by the casing.

After use, the user slides the casing 2 upward, exposing the logo or trademark 125 and covering and protecting the display screen 124.

Claims

CLAIMS:

1. A calculator having an upper surface provided with a display screen and casing slidable on said calculator between a first inoperative position covering said display screen and a second operative position exposing said display screen; and when said casing has flexible transparent portions which register with pushbuttons on said calculator when said casing is in its second position to enable operation of said pushbuttons.

2. A calculator as claimed in claim 1 wherein in said first position said casing exposes a logo or trademark on the calculator.

3. A calculator as claimed in claim 1 or 2 wherein said calculator has a solar energy plate for powering said calculator.

4. A calculator as claimed in claim 1, 2 or 3 wherein said casing has depending inwardly turned flanges along each side edge which engage in corresponding grooves in the side edges of the calculator body.

5. A calculator as claimed in any of claims 1 to 4 wherein the push button group may be established signs, district blocks, and several district blocks connected into a belt shape block as its characteristics.

6. A calculator substantially as herein before described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
