Abstract

A plastic carrier bag holder has a pre-moulded grip, shaped to fit into the hand of an adult, and means for releasably securing the holder to the plastic carrier bag. When in place the holder secures the plastic carrier bag by means of rubber knuckles which prevent the bag from twisting or falling out of the grip of the holder. <IMAGE>

Description

HOLDER FOR PLASTIC CARRIER BAGS Plastic carrier bags have proved their worth to shoppers everywhere. However, the handle part of the plastic carrier bag eventually wears thin through constant use and the carrier bag has to be discarded. Alternatively, when used to carry heavy weights, the handle part of the plastic bag irritates the skin, and thus causes discomfort, to the carrier of the plastic bag.
According to the present invention, there is provided a plastic carrier bag holder consisting of a pre-moulded grip, shaped to fit into the hand of an adult, and means for releasably securing the holder to the plastic carrier bag.
The invention can be described by reference to the accompanying drawing which : Figure 1 shows the side view and the shape and mould for the fingers; Figure 2 shows the end view, the depth of the holder and the rubber teeth into which the handle of the plastic carrier bag is pressed; and Figure 3 shows the top view and the concave ends of the holder with prevent the holder from turning in the hand of the carrier of the plastic bag.

Claims (7)

1 A plastic carrier bag holder consisting of a pre-moulded grip, shaped to fit into the hand of an adult, and means for releasably securing the holder to the plastic carrier bag.
2 The plastic carrier bag holder as claimed in claim 1 wherein guide means are provided to hold the plastic carrier bag in place.
3 The plastic carrier bag holder as claimed in claim 1 or claim 2, wherein catchment means are provided to hold the plastic carrier bag in place.
4 A plastic carrier bag holder as claimed in claim 2 or 3, wherein the catchment means is adapted to co-operate with the guide means in order to hold the plastic carrier bag in place.
5 A plastic carrier bag holder as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the grip is provided with a pre-moulded shape.
6 A plastic carrier bag holder as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the holder is provided with rubber knuckles to hold the plastic carrier bag in place.
7 A plastic carrier bag holder substantially as described herein with reference to Figures 1-3 of the accompanying drawing.
