Abstract

Rumbles and tumbling-barrels.-Comprises an outer drum a provided with trunnions b', b<2> supported in bearings c, d and driven by a pulley c, and an inner wire netting drum k mounted on a shaft g passing through the trunnion b<2> and driven in a direction opposite to, and at a speed slower than, that of the outer drum by a pulley l, a stuffing-box f being provided to prevent leakage of polishing liquid The hollow-ware articles to be polished are placed in the drum k, through an aperture m, which is closed during working, and polishing balls and liquid are placed in the drum a. Inclined ledges n are mounted on the inner periphery of the drum a to carry the balls upwards and discharge them through the netting on to the articles to be polished.
