Heating by indirect contact of steam.-The steam used as the heating medium, which circulates in a closed circuit and does not come into contact with the water of the boiler, is dried be fore entering the heat transferring means in the boiler. Steam is generated in a coil C and passed through a separator 3 to a coil 6 or the like in the boiler E. Water from the separator is preferably returned to the coil C. The condensate returns to the coil C through a feed-water heater l<1>, being preheated in a coil D. The separator may be dispensed with, the steam being heated in another coil after leaving the generating coil C. Specification 11044/92 is referred to.
