Abstract

A non-burnt building material such as brick or tile is made by mixing proportionally a main component selected from quartz and/or clay, additives, and ore coagulant (which becomes colloidal when mixed with water), stirring uniformly the mixture of the main material, additives and ore coagulant, adding water to the mixture, molding the mixture in a mold and subjecting the moulded mixture to low heat or normal air. Means for mixing the building material comprises a tunnel, a propeller extending into the tunnel, a motor driving the propeller, two funnels to feed the mixture and water respectively into the tunnel, and a mold.

Description

SPECIFICATION A non-burnt building material BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION This invnetion relates to a non-burnt building material such as brick or tile.
Conventionally, the building material such as brick or tile is made by first grinding the clay into powder, then pressing the powdered clay into green pressing, and finally subjecting the green pressing to high temperature for burning.
The burnt green pressing has to be further enameled. Otherwise, the building material thus made will be rough and porous. Since the conventional building material is absorptive and feasible of efflorescense, the building made of such material is not safe and does not dure long. The conventional building material no matter enameled or not require burning process.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to a building material such as brick or tile which does not require the process of burning.
Accordingly, one object of this invention is to provide a non-burnt building material such as brick or tile which does not tequire the process of burning.
Another object of this invention is to provide a non-burnt building material such as brick or tile which is smooth and least porous.
The present invention will be further described with reference to the accompanying drawings, the description being given by way of example only, not by way of limitation.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Figure 1 is a flow chart of a method for making a non-burnt building material in accordance with this invention; Figure 2 is a perspective view of means for making a non-burnt builidng material in accordance with this invention; Figure 3 is a block view of a detecting device in accordance with this invention; and Figure 4 is a flow chart of a process for making a non-burnt building material by means of a mold in accordance with this invention.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVEN TION As shown in Fig. 1, a main component selected from quartz and clay is crushed and ground respectively by means of a crushing machine and a grinding machine, dehydrated whereby the water contained therein is below 4%, and further screened by means of a sieve above 40 mesh. Before being fed into feeding device, the main component selected from quartz and clay, pigment, specific additives, and ore coagulant are measured and mixed proportionally - the main component contains less than 4% of water. Then, the mixture thereof is fed into a tunnel to be stirred. In the front section of the tunnel, the mixture is uniformly stirred in the absence of water. In the rear section of the tunnel, the mixture is stirred uniformly with water which is supplied as proportionally desired. The water supplied to the mixture thereof is controlled by a measuring device.The uniformly stirred mixture which becomes colloid is injected into a mold by means of an injecting device. The colloid mixture is pressed in the mold. The pressed product passes through a detecting device to be examined regarding colour and porosity. The products which fail the detectation will be prevented from entering into market. However, the sound products will be further packed.
The ore coagulant comprises SiO2, Awl203, and MgO of more than 325 mesh. The are coagulant under high pressure will subject the main component selected from clay and quartz to complete enameling.
The mixture remains powdered when water is supplied up to 10% of the mixture. However, when water is supplied above 10% thereof, the mixture becomes colloid. It is desirable that water to be supplied is between 10-23% thereof. Usually, quartz is 0-80% or alteruatively clay is 0-80%. When the mixture contains more quartz, more hardness is obtainable. The inorganic pigment is desirable not to exceed 5% of the mixture. Teh pigment may be added when stirring. Or alternatively the pigment, before being added into the dry mixture, may be first mixed with water. The specific additives may be waterproof, heat-resistant or thermal insular material as desired. Nails and hooks also can be further provided.
The colloid mixture in the mold may be dehydrated in two ways. The colloid mixture in the mold may be exposed to normal air for 4-10 hours. Thus, moisture contained in the colloid mixture may be dried off and the colloid mixture will then get solid. Alternatively, the colloid mixture may be subjected to low heat to dry off the moisture. The products will obtain a greater strength if they are subjected to suitable pressure before complete dehydration. In the process of stirring, the colloid ore coagulant will pervade extensively in the mixture to obviate the undesired porosity.
As shown in Fig. 2, means for making a non-burnt building material in accordance with this invention comprises a tunnel 10, a propeller 10' extending into the tunnel 10 a motor 20 driving the propeller 10' and two separated funnels 11 and 1 2 provided on top of the tunnel 10. The powdered main component selected from quartz and clay, ore coagulant and additives are fed into the tunnel 10 from the funnel 11 to be stirred in the ab sence of water whereby the ore coagulant will pervade uniformly. The mixture of the main component, ore coagulant and additives is propelled rearward. Water is fed from the funnel 1 2 into the tunnel 10 to mix with the mixture of the main component, ore coagulant and additives. Wtih water, the mixture of main component, ore coagulant and additives become colloid.
Fig. 3 shows a detecting device in accordance with this invnetion. A reflecting member 11 is provided beneath a conveying belt 10 whereby a product 12, when coveyed to a position 1 4 defined by the reflecting member 11, will be subjected to detection regarding surface, color and porosity. Thus, the quality of the products may be kept at a desired level.
Fig. 4 shows a flow chart of a process for making a non-burnt building material by means of a mold in accordance with this invention. A transparent film 21 of plastics is formed into an auxiliary mold 22. The colloid mixture is molded in the auxiliary mold 22 which is inserted in the main mold 11. The solidated mixture and auxiliary mold 22 are detached from the main mold simultaneously.
With the auxiliary mold 22, molded product 25 will obtain a sound enameling. The auxiliary mold 22 will serve as package or surface of the product 25.

Claims (11)

claims. CLAIMS
1. A non-burnt building material made by moulding a mixture of a powdered main component selected from quartz and clay, ore coagulant and water, said ore coagulant becoming colloid when subjected to water.
2. A non-burnt building material as calimed in Claim 1 wherein said ore coagulant comprises SiO2, Al2O3, and MgO and is greater than said powdered main component in mesh.
3. A non-burnt building material as calimed in Claim 2 wherein said powdered main component is preferably above 40 mesh, and said ore coagulant is preferably above 325 mesh.
4. A non-burnt building material as claimed in Claim 1 wherein said water is 10-25%.
5. A non-burnt building material as claimed in Claim 1 wherein said quartz is preferably 0-80% and said powered clay is 0-80% in proportion.
6. A non-burnt building material as claimed in Claim 1 wherein inorganic material, coagulating promoter, thermal insulating material, water-proof and mechanical material may be further added.
7. A non-burnt building material as claimed in Claim 1 wherein said mixture gets solid by vibration in the mold and then is exposed to normal air for 4-12 hours.
8. A non-burnt building material as claimed in Claim 1 wherein said mixture after getting solid by vibration in the mold is subjected to low heat for drying.
9. A non-burnt building material as claimed in Claim 1 wherein said mixture in mold is subjected to pressure.
1 0. A non-burnt building as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the smoothness of said nonburnt brick is obtainable by the smoothness of the mold.
11. A non-burnt building material as calimed in Claim 1 wherein said mixture is molded in an auxiliary mold.
