A reflecting trimming for outdoor garments, rucksacks or cycling equipment, comprises a narrow tape of synthetic fibres of other weatherproof material, and a plurality of light- reflective elements secured to one face of the band or tape at spaced intervals. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Reflecting trimming This invention relates to a reflecting trimming suitable for application to the yokes and seams of outdoor garments, rucksacks or cycling equipment.
The trimming according to the invention comprises a narrow band or tape, preferably of synthetic fibres or other weather-proof material, and a plurality of light-reflective elements secured to one face of the band or tape at spaced intervals.
The band preferably comprises two layers of woven braid and the reflective elements may be shaped reflective elements of transparent plastics material, such as polymethyl methacrylate.
The preferred construction of the trimming and its components are shown in the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 shows a plan and elevation of a single reflective element, Figure 2 shows a plan of elements mounted on a first strip of braid; and Figure 3 shows the completed trimming.
The component parts would preferably be: 1. Plain woven braid, 15 mm wide.
2. Rectangles of light-reflecting plastics material, 15 mm x 10 mm at base, tapering regularly to 9mm x 6 mm over 2 mm thickness.
3. Woven braid with rectangular apertures, having different-coloured borders to the apertures, which shall be 10 mm x 7 mm, and placed 4 mm from upper and lower edges of braid, with 20 mm between each aperture.
The plastic component to be attached to one surface of braid (1), 2.5 mm from upper and lower edges, 15 mm apart. Braid (3) to be attached over these, the apertures fitting over upper surfaces of plastic rectangles.
1. Reflecting trimming for application to garments or traveller's equipment, comprising a narrow band of tape, preferably of synthetic fibres or other weatherproof material, and a plurality of lightreflective elements secured to one face of the band ortape at spaced intervals.
2. Trimming according to claim 1 in which the band comprises two layers of woven braid, one of which has apertures fitting over the upper surfaces of the reflective elements.
3. Trimming according to claim 1 or 2 in which the reflective elements are shaped elements of transparent plastics material.

SPECIFICATION Reflecting trimming This invention relates to a reflecting trimming suitable for application to the yokes and seams of outdoor garments, rucksacks or cycling equipment. The trimming according to the invention comprises a narrow band or tape, preferably of synthetic fibres or other weather-proof material, and a plurality of light-reflective elements secured to one face of the band or tape at spaced intervals. The band preferably comprises two layers of woven braid and the reflective elements may be shaped reflective elements of transparent plastics material, such as polymethyl methacrylate. The preferred construction of the trimming and its components are shown in the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 shows a plan and elevation of a single reflective element, Figure 2 shows a plan of elements mounted on a first strip of braid; and Figure 3 shows the completed trimming.
