Abstract

A carrying handle is made of hard plastic/synthetic material in the form of a tube with an opening at the top. The side edges at the top curl outwards to facilitate the insertion and extraction of the soft handle of a carrier bag or parcel. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION A separate carrier bag or parcel service handle "The true grip" The presented invention is a device to be used as a separate service handle to be attached to the already existing handle of carrier bags or parcels. Since most handles of carrier bags and parcels are made of plastics, cord or other soft flexible material, they cause pain to the hand if the bag/parcel is heavily loaded, since the handle tends to cut into the hand and cause discomfort. The handle's purpose is to prevent this and give the hand a steady and comfortable grip.
Since this type of device has not been seen on the market, I feel that it would be an essential asset, especially to old people with decreased strength in the hand muscles and -joints.
The handle is to be made out of a hard plastic/synthetic material, in the following size: width/length: 95 millimeters x 110 milimeters, expressed as the flat performed size. This to be formed into a tube with an opening at the top of approximately 2 milimeters, the ends at the top to curl outwards to facilitate the insertion and extraction of the soft handle of the carrier bag or parcel.
See attached drawing for dimensions etc.
Since the grip is to be made in a plastic- or synthetic material approximately 1,5 millimeter thick, the opening will automatically be flexible and consequently not cause any problem when inserting the flexible handle(s) of the carrier bag or parcel or extracting the same.
Furthermore I have chosen the shape as indicated in the end elevation to avoid the possibility of the handle twisting in the hand and causing the handle of the carrier bag or parcel to become disengaged.
The service handle/grip would furthermore be an excellent object to carry advertisements or other information which could be printed, engraved, etc.
thereon.
CLAIM
A separate carrier bag or parcel service handle to be attached to the already existing handle of carrier bags or parcels. Since most handles of carrier bags and parcels are made of plastic, cord or other soft flexible material, they cause pain to the hand if tho bag/parcel is heavily loaded, since the handle tends to cut into the hand and cause discomfort. The handle's purpose is to prevent this and give the hand a steady and comfortable grip. - Since this type of device has not been seen on the market, I feel that it would be an essential asset, especially to old people with decreased strength in the hand muscles and joints.
Description: The handle is to be made out of hard plastic/synthetic material, as per the attached drawing, and in the following size: Figure 1: Width/length: 95 milimeters x 110 milimeters, expressed as the flat performed size. This is to be formed into Figure 2: a tube with an opening at the top of approximately 2 milimeters, the ends at the top to curl outwards to facilitate the insertion and extraction of the soft handle of the carrier bag or parcel. The grip/handle is to be made in a plastic- or synthetic material approx imately 1,5 milimeterthick. Because of the material, the opening will automatically be flexible and consequently not cause any problem when inserting the flexible handle(s) of the carrier bag or parcel or extracting the same.
The shape as indicated in the end elevation I have chosen in order to avoid the possibility of the handle twisting in the hand and causing the handle of the carrier bag or parcel to become disengaged.
The service handie/grip would furthermore be an excellent object to carry advertisements or other information which could be printed, engraved, etc.
thereon.
New claims or amendments to claims filed on 5th May 1 981 New or amended claims: 1. A separate carrier bag or parcel service handle to be attached to the already existing handle(s) of carrier bags or parcels to give a comfortable grip to the hand and prevent discomfort to fingers and hand when carrying heavy carrier bags and parcels equipped with flexible plastic-, cord- or similar handle(s).
2. A separate carrier bag or parcel service handle as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawing.
