Abstract
In a spreader of fertilisers or seed from a hopper or magazine (10) the material is supplied from the magazine (10) to a dosing mechanism (12), and distributed through tubes (34). A special section (24) is provided as a removable connecting section (24), preferably pivotally mounted, between the dosing mechanism (12) and the tubes (34), making it possible to perform a test in order to calculate the material needed without removing and again mounting the tubes (34). <IMAGE>
Description
SPECIFICATION
Machine for distributing grainy material
The present invention relates to a machine for distributing grainy material of the kind specified in the preamble to claim 1.
From the specification to the Danish patent No.
111.398 is known an arrangement in machines for sowing seed or distributing of the 1 as fertilizers or pest chemicals. This machine is provided with a seed magazine having several seed openings in the bottom near seed rolls and shutters placed under the rolls. The shutters are mounted on a bearing shaft yieldably held by means of springs so that the shutters yield when larger solid objects pass.
From the specification to the French pat. No.
78 1 2832 is known a machine for distributing grainy material pneumatically. This machine is provided with a blower and a magazine and tubes connected to the blower and supplied with material from the magazine through a dosing mechanism.
From the German DAS No. 23 1 9 940 is known a similar machine provided with bodies for the material to glance off near the exits from the tubes. From the German OS No. 24 44 010 a seed and fertilizer distributor also privided with a dosing mechanism and a blower and tubes turning on a central part and on booms on which further swing booms are connected.
From the German OS No. 26 11 358 is known a machine for distributing pneumatically grainy material in which the magazine at the bottom is parted in two sections by means of a central roofshaped body. This is supposed to be of importance for the function.
From the German DAS No. 24 52 793 is known a similar machine for distributing grainy material pneumatically in which are mouth pieces having inlets larger than the outlets of the tubes, and having outlets smaller than the outlet openings of the tubes whereby in a known manner is obtained an increased velocity and a turbulence which should cause a uniform distribution of the particles of the material.
From the specification to the Swedish patent application No. 342 732 is known an arrangement in seed and fertilizer distributors characterized in that a shaft for cams for dosing the material is in at least two sections in order to make a reduction of the working width possible.
From the Swedish patent application No.
331 385 is known a pneumatic arrangement in seed and fertilizer distributors having an air tube connected to a blower under a chute for material with a dosing mechanism, characterized in a displacement body in the tube having a gradually narrowing channel part connected to a cylindrical channel part of essentially smaller diameter than the air tube and with the outlet under the chute placed in an end surface of the body oblique with
respect to the flow direction. The object is to obtain a narrow forceful air jet transporting the material falling from the chute further through the tube.
In the known machines it is difficult or time wasting to perform a trial run, and therefore it is an object of the invention to provide a machine of this kind in which the trial run is easy to perform.
The present invention is characterised in that a connecting section which connects the dosing mechanism with the tubes is removably arranged.
In this way is obtained that a test tray may be placed in lieu of the connecting section, and a trial run can be performed easily and comfortably contrary to the known machines in which the tubes are to be removed and then connected again.
According to the invention the connecting section may be mounted swiveling about a pivot so that a very easy operation is obtained.
According to the invention the connecting section may be provided with an oblong slot for the pivot. In this way a clearance is obtained making the operation and the placing of the section easier.
According to the invention the connecting section may be provided with a lock for fixing. In this way a secure fix is obtained which does not need to harm the easy operation as the lock in a known manner may be shaped as a snap lock.
According to the invention the connecting section may be provided with section walls by which a more reliable effect may be obtained easing the operation.
According to invention the number of the section walls may be fewer than the cam rolls of the dosing mechanism. E.g. 2 1/2 cam roll per pair of section walls may be used, and hereby a more uniform distribution in favour of the operation is obtained.
The invention is in the following more detailed explained referring to the drawings on which schematically is shown an embodiment of the machine according to the invention, and on which
Fig. is a part of the said machine for distributing grainy material, seen from the side,
Fig. 2 a cross section through this part of the machine, and
Fig. 3 the same cross section but with the movable parts in another position.
In the figures 10 indicates a box or magazine for the grainy material, 12 are cam rolls mounted on a hexagonal shaft 14, and 16 (fig. 2) a shaft on which bottom shutters 1 8 are placed which may be adjusted by means of screws 20, and which are provided with springs 22 in order to hold them yieldably in the working position in such a way that they can yield during passage of larger solid objects.
Below here is placed a connecting section 24 which is shaped nearly as a funnel, and which connects the magazine 10 to tubes 34 in which the material pneumatically is transported to distribution. The long connecting section 24 is swivelling mounted about a pivot 28 in a slot 30, and normally in the use, cf. Figure 2, the section 24 falls into an opening 32 in each of the tubes 34. In each tube 34 is an essentially as a nozzle shaped piece 36 for provision of an air jet.
In Figure 3 is shown how the section 24 may be swung up, and a test tray 40 placed in lieu of it so that a trial run may be carried out comfortably.
The connecting section 24 may be totally removable but usually it will be more appropriate to place it swingable from the pivot 28. The slot 30 is expediently oblong but may also have another shape.
The connecting section 24 is advantageously provided with a lock for fixing. This lock may be made as snap fastening. The nozzle shaped pieces 36 are as indicated in Figure 1 non-circular in cross section but essentially rectangular. The pieces 36 are connected to a blower not shown.
In the connecting section 24 there may advantageously be partition walls which may be designed as indicated in the schematical Figure 1 by26.
The partition walls 26 may advantageously be fewer than the cam rolls of the dosing mechanism, e.g. so that there are 2 1/2 cam rolls per pair of the partition walls shown in Figure 1, viz. 2 1/2 cam rolls per tube. In this way a more uniform distribution of the material is obtained.
The material spread in the test tray 40 is weighed on scales which must be very accurate in order to give a reliable result for the calculation of the total material needed.
