Abstract

A window blind (1) which is to be raised and lowered through the agency of a series of cords (6) is provided with a number of spaced parallel vertical bands (2). The bands (2) have secured thereto to form parallel horizontal rows, press-button parts (3), to which complementary press-button parts (4) may be readily attached and removed. These other parts (4) mount rings (5) through which the cords (6) may be threaded and then anchored to a weighty lower cross member (9). When it is wished to remove the blind, as for cleaning, it is only necessary to disengage the part (4) from the parts (3), thus avoiding time-consuming removal and rethreading of the cords (6) through their rings. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Window Blinds and the Like The present invention relates to-a downwardlyupwardly movable blind or curtain provided with members for quickly assembling and disassembling said blind to/from its operating mechanism.
As it is known, in the furnishings field downwardly-upwardly movable blinds are presently used, that is blinds able of being upwardly folded up.
To this end, the blinds are affixed, at the top, to a fixed upper cross-member and are maintained in a stretched condition by a lower cross-member, thereto a plurality of cords are jointed.
These latter, through corresponding transmission pulleys, located on the upper crossmember, allow for the blind to be rised or lowered at will, in such a way as to affix the blind at the desired level.
In order to cause the blind to be properly folded on itself, during the rising step, it is necessary to provide, at the individual cords, a plurality of rings firmly associated to the blind.
Presently these rings are fixed to the blind according to vertical lines and at equal or even spacings, by means of seams.
Accordingly, as the blind has to be disassembled for washing, it is indispensable to disengage all the operating cords from the lower cross-member and unthread said cords from the respective guiding rings.
This operation, and obviously the reverse one, as required for reassembling the blind, are rather difficult ones for a woman thereby discouraging a purchase of the blind.
This practical drawback, on the contrary, is eliminated in the downwardly-upwardly movable blind according to the present invention.
In fact, the blind of the invention is provided with a specifically designed coupling system, effective to allow for said blind to be quickly and easily assembled and disassembled.
More precisely, the blind or packet curtain according to the invention is provided, vertically, with a plurality of parallely extending bands, suitably and evenly spaced, thereon are fixed, at even spacings, one of the portions, male or female, of a pressure button.
The other portion of said buttons is provided with a ring, possibly of discontinuous shape, therethrough an operating cord passes, this latter being fixed to the lower cross-member.
In the practice, therefore, for disassembling the blind, it is sufficient to separate the two portions of said buttons and disengage the two ends of the blind from the upper and lower cross-members.
In this manner, the blind is removed from its operating mechanism, without the necessity of handling said mechanism, this latter being ready to engage again the washed blind.
These and other characteristics, of functional and constructional nature, of the downwardlyupwardly movable blind or packet curtain according to the present invention, will become more apparent from the figures of the accompanying drawing, where: Fig. 1 is a schematic front view of the instant blind; Fig. 2 illustrates the procedure for connecting the blind and the operating cord sliding rings; and Fig. 3 illustrates possible practical embodiments of the sliding ring carrying pressure button portion.
Referring particularly to the number references of the figures of the accompanying drawing, the downwardly-upwardly movable blind or packet curtain according to the present invention (1) is provided, vertically, with a plurality of bands (2), fixed, at even or suitable spacings, to said blind.
On said band is applied, at even spacings, one of the portions (3), male or female, of a plurality of pressure buttons.
The other portion, (4), respectively female or male, of said pressure buttons is so designed as to present a ring, either closed (5) or opened (5'), or effective to be opened, for the passing of the individual operating cords (6).
Said cords, through corresponding transmission pulleys (7), as carried by an upper cross-member, (8), are anchored to a lower plate member (9), effective to act as a counterweight for maintaining in a stretched condition the blind.
This latter is fixed to said cross-members by easily decouplable coupling members, such as biadhesive cloth strips or ribbons and the like.
From the above description and the observation of the figures of the accompanying drawing, the great functionality and assemblingdisassembling facility characterizing the downwardly-upwardly movable blind or packet curtain according to the present invention are self-evident.
From the above statements it should be clear that the instant blind and the coupling members effective to mount said blind on the operating mechanism therefor, are susceptible to several variations and modifications, according to the making requirements and the provided practical use, and to such improvements as suggested by the experience.
These modifications can be brought about both to the thereinabove illustrated operating elements, which are characteristic of the present invention, and to the making and/or assembling procedure thereof, without departing from the scope of the invention.
Claims
1. A downwardly-upwardly movable blind or packet curtain, characterized in that it comprises, at suitable positions thereof, a plurality of decouplable coupling members, including two portions effective to be coupled to one another, one of said portions being fixed to the blind, and the other carrying a continuous or discontinuous type of ring, said ring being effective to slidingly hold a cord included in the rising and lowering system for said blind.
