In a gas meter with a pair of measuring chambers 11, 12 containing flexible diaphragms 14, 15, valves are moved via a lever 19, 23 pivoted to diaphragm 14 and at feed bearing 21. The lever passes out of the chamber through a flexible gaiter 24. <IMAGE>
