Abstract

An assembly of a tubular shaft and a hollow universal joint member at an end thereof, made by placing the joint member on a supporting mandrel, applying reinforcing fibres to the joint member and mandrel to form a shaft with the member set in one end thereof, impregnating the fibres with resin, hardening the resin, and removing the mandrel. The joint member includes one or a plurality of outer track-defining members for receiving the balls of an inner member and for locating a baffle.
