Abstract

A fuel pump comprises a housing (1, 3, 5), there being in the housing a suction chamber (11, 13) connected to an admission conduit (9), a delivery chamber (15) connected to an outflow conduit (17) and a pump member (31, 37-55) connected through one way valves (33, 35) to the suction chamber and the delivery chamber. At least one of the walls which close off the delivery chamber is formed by an elastic seal element (25). The pump member comprises a diaphragm (37) acted on by a pump spring (39) and a push member (41) which is reciprocated by an element such as a cam driven by the engine to which the pump is supplying fuel. <IMAGE>
