Abstract

A roof structure is fabricated from structural members which form a series of right-angled triangles a-x all of which, for a given roof span, are congruent. The triangles may be prefabricated or alternatively, for a given span, the structural members may be provided in three lengths such that they can be assembled to form congruent triangles. In an L-shaped (in plan) structure the need for supporting I-beams or walls at the junction between the two sections of the building is obviated. Opposed frames 10 are tied together by a tie 26 attached to brackets 28, and wedges are employed at the roof ridge R. <IMAGE>
