Abstract

A method for distinctly and durably printing minute letters or symbols necessary to represent characteristics of a soft contact lens which comprises stamping letters or/and symbols on a selected marginal area of the surface of a soft contact lens by the use of an aqueous solution or paste of a light- sensitive colouring composition which is hardened by the application of ultraviolet rays, and then applying ultraviolet rays to the stamped surface of the soft contact lens. The stamping may be effected while a lens is swollen from contact with water.
